Central League!Round 4!4 May 2014

Today sees us host to Seatoun and I’d like to personally welcome Garry and his team to our facility.!!We have had a mixture of results after our opening 3 games and our tough draw doesn’t get any easier with today’s game against another top team. We have already made the trip to Wanganui and then away to Massey the following game, so are pleased to return to our home ground for today’s clash with Seatoun.!!Our game against Wanganui assisted with building the player’s confidence as we slotted 12 goals past a struggling Wanganui side. What was really pleasing was the fact that we never took the foot off the pedal. At half time the score was 5 nil so to come out and put away another 7 goals was extremely pleasing. The entire squad played well and was proof that we have a well rounded young squad to work with.!!The Massey game was a good opportunity for our young players to really see what playing Central League was all about. I thought our first half display was outstanding and we really didn’t deserve to be 2 nil down going into the break. But that’s what good sides will do against the run of play, make the most of their opportunities! Unfortunately for us, Massey came out the stronger of the two sides for the second half and our consolation goal was all we could take away from the game along with a some tough lessons on playing at central league level.!!With that experience under our belt we are looking forward to playing Seatoun having learnt those tough lessons last week. We will be looking for everyone to step up for today’s challenge to ensure we stay competitive in the competition. Carolyn O’Riley has been a stand out player for us to date. She has really matured as a player for someone so young and has performed consistently to date.!!Thanks to everyone who has turned out today to come and support the team.!
