I was only 13 years old at the time and my passion for photography was only meant for astrophotography. Only a few years after I began to focus on the goal that was extremely distant and intangible, to life extremely close to me. All days life.

«Freedom», Simone Sapienza (Italy)3rd place - Street Photography

To be a good street photographer you must not have features. Be hidden or visible, noisy or quiet, any merit or defect can lead to a step that can be not only beautiful, but above all full.

Simone Sapienza

«The Yard», Umberto Sommaruga (Italy)4th place - Street Photography

Street photography for me is a corollary to the real reportage. A moment of relaxation and concentration at the same time. The satisfaction of grasping a snapshot, of being able to ”see”.

If everyone is able to produce something you are creating a kind of language. And as with language, all share the same words, but only a few are poets.

» THEME #02GEOMETRICS

The urban environment seen through the lens, tracing lines, contours, outlines, sinuous or asymmetric forms, geometric arrangements.Capturing with the artistic eye of the photograph particular images from the cityscape which surrounds us.

To be a good street photographer you need to give enough time to seek out the subjects you are looking for and also to let things unfold organically. Enough patience to give luck a chance.

I think the value of memory is at the basis of photography.

» THEME #03URBAN FASHION

Fashion Photography in the urban fabric.Contrary to street photography, here there’s no need to capture the moment, since it can actually be “created”. The setting for the fashion shoot must be the City, either real or reproduced as a set. The photographer is free to place his/her subjects inside or outside, as long as the city context is ever present.

I am looking for those moments of freedom that allow me to be alone with myself, walk around and enjoy the world, and at the same time to have the possibilty of thanking it photographing it and filtering it through my eyes, my heart, my brain and my emotions.
