4th OJT Background
• Under the Regional Corporation Project Implementation Plan (RCPIP), Malaysia has agreed to conduct (4) four On-the-job Training on Flood Forecasting between TC members (OJT).
• The 1st OJT was held from 21 Jan – 28 February 2008, • The 2nd was held on 1 December – 31 December 2008 • The 3rd OJT was held from 21 July – 23rd August 2009.• The fourth and final OJT was held from 12 July until 6
August 2010 at DID office (Division of Water Resources Management and Hydrology), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
• The programme was arranged for 20 days to cover all the modules that have been planned by the DID
• The 4th OJT was attended by 18 participants, comprising of 15 DID Engineers and the 3 Typhoon Committee (TC) members (Department of Meteorology and Hydrology Laos PDR, Ministry of Water Resources of China and Ministry of Water Resources and Environment Vietnam).

4th OJT Objectives
• gain knowledge, appreciation and experience on use of the Tank Model for flood forecasting
• configure a flood forecasting model based on the Tank Model for a selected catchment in the participant’s country
• calibrate the Tank Model and preparing the model for operational use in the participant’s respective organization
• develop expertise in writing simple macros (MSExcel) to automate model computations – a skill which can be used to customize the model and further enhance the model in the future
• Technical knowledge sharing among participants

Year 2010 is the final year of 5 year Malaysia Plan
Director General of DID Malaysia did not give any instruction on any international commitment due to restructuring of Malaysia Plan for 2011 to 2015.
Next year, the planning of international programme will be done based on approved budget and new policy from Ministry and Government Malaysia
