The Advanced Passive Living Wall is a vertical gardening system based on hydroponics, patented by Terapia Urbana. It can be installed in buildings either indoors or outdoors. The plant growth in our special substrate Fitotextil® is granted due to automated irrigation and fertigation, the remote control and the advanced monitoring integrated systems.

Lightening: A lightening system is required for indoor living walls. Outdoors, this lightening system only has an ornamental purpose.

Technical space: A place for a tank (at the base of the living room or in other position) and hydraulic and monitoring equipment is also necessary. The dimensions of these premises depends on the area required for each equipment.

Service connections: Connections for water supply and drainage are required. Power and data network connections are also needed.

Lighting: A lighting system is required for indoor living walls. Outdoors, this lighting system only has an ornamental purpose.

System dimensions: Active systems add a ventilation chamber to the living wall between 40 and 80 cm deep, depending on the system selected. If integrated with the air conditioning system, room for pipe connections must be considered. The rest of the requirements are similar to those for passive systems.

Service connections: The same connections as for passive systems are required. In facilities combined with the building’s air conditioning system, the connection with the ventilation conducts must be prepared depending on the operation schedule selected. Indoors, the AALW can be autonomous, not attached to the ventilation system.

The Advanced Active Living Wall designed by Terapia Urbana is an ecological system for air conditioning and bio filtration. It can work on its own or can be integrated with the buildings air conditioning and ventilation system, improving overall performance and efficiency. Therefore important energy savings can be obtained. This system also integrates a remote control system allowing remote monitoring and management.

Living Wall

Both living walls and green roofs incorporate an automation and remote control system design by IDENER which monitors all the parameters and detects possible malfunctions. Remote controlling is available thanks to a network platform located in an external server. Therefore, the operation of all the systems

is optimized and maintenance costs are minimized. Energy and water consumption is also adjusted according to the environment conditions. IDENER is a Technology-based company specialized in monitoring systems. It is associated with the Monitoring and Automation department (University of Seville).

MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE OF OUR SYSTEMS

Slimgreenwall is a smaller modular living wall. It introduces Nature into your home or your office, in a safe, simple and controlled way. They offer many decorative possibilities without any room modifications. This system simplifies the multilayer components of passive living walls in only one substrate layer allowing designs with different configurations and finishing.

Load requirements: Load requirements for these systems go from 120 - 400 Kg/m2 for semi-intensive green roofs to more than 400 Kg/m2 for intensive ones.

Tank: A tank to recover rain and drainage water is optional. It can be integrated in the roof or buried at ground level.

Hydraulic equipment: A place for the hydraulic equipment (pumps, filters, valves) is necessary. The size will be dependent on the area covered by the green roof.

Service connections: Connections for water supply and drainage are required. Power and data network connections are also needed.

aDVanceD PassiVe Green rOOF (TVPa) The Advanced Passive Green Roof is a greening method for building roofs developed by Terapia Urbana. Different layers support the growing medium and vegetation. Irrigation, fertigation and monitoring systems designed by IDENER are also installed.

Our systems lead to a bioclimatic conditioning of indoor spaces which become more comfortable and healthy, preventing the “sick building syndrome”. They also contribute to improve the level of qualifications obtained in environmental certification systems such as LEED or BREEAM. Those benefits entail important energy savings in buildings and a competitive and commercial improvement for companies.

MICROGARDENINGWe work in the development of new forms of terrariums, that let us to create small living ecosystems in small spaces, where we enjoy micro-landscapes. With these we try to bring the wild beauty and evocation of Nature to any indoor place. Currently we are investigating new forms and the best ways to develop and distribute them.

VERTICAL FARMS& URBAN GARDENSTerapia Urbana searches for new forms of urban gardening and vertical farming. These systems are developed from our systems JVPA and TVPA. By 2050 it is expected that nearly 80% of the world population lives in cities, which pose serious problems in terms of availability of land for farming, making it necessary to devise new forms of urban culture.
