Glow ThreadGO CRAZY WITH

Glow thread is a great way to liven up any design, but some designs are specially designed to dazzle in this thread. Search the word “glow” to find them all on Urban Threads!

EXPERIMENTS WITH

These Mendhika designs are light enough and ornate enough to pull of a neat little trick using a special Madeira thread called Burmilana. Burmilana is a very thick, almost yarn-like thread that offers beautiful raised textured effects that give theembroidery a wonderful, old world folk feel.

It helps to use a special metallic needle that has a larger eye, which reduces friction as the thread passes through.

Metallic thread is a great way to add sparkle and shimmer to your embroidery projects, but it can be a little tricky to

work with. Avoid any “threadaches” such as nesting, knotting, or thread breaks with these helpful tips and tricks.

Slow the speed to 350-400 stitches per minute. That reduces friction and thread breaks.

Let the thread relax before it goes through the tension disks. Try putting your thread in a cup or using a thread stand.
