A Close Community
Your college career begins with an orientation that
will acquaint you with our diverse campus. Urbana
is small enough to foster close connections between
students and faculty, but large enough to provide
cutting-edge programs that ensure success. Here
you’ll create life-long friendships by living with
other students in the residence halls, dining at The
Commons, or grabbing a late-night snack at the
White Family Grill in the Student Center. The
geographic, racial, and social diversity of Urbana’s
students makes our campus a dynamic place. Our
picturesque 128-acre campus offers the safety of a
small community less than an hour away from the
metropolitan communities of Dayton and Columbus.
A Support System
At Urbana, we want our exceptional students to
reach their full potential. Resources like the
Student Success Center provide free one-on-one
tutoring, and the Career Center’s highly qualified
staff will connect you with employment and
internship opportunities. The dedicated faculty
provide students with individual attention that is
key for growth.
An Overflow of Opportunities
If you’re interested in giving back, Urbana is the right
place for you. Our students have plenty of chances to
serve by helping families in need, assisting at public
events, tutoring young children, and by serving as peer
mentors, U-Team leaders, and resident assistants. You’ll
have opportunities to volunteer within the community or
travel to other locations. The volunteer spirit is an
important part of the Urbana experience. It’s part of
what makes the warm, friendly atmosphere that sets our
college apart.CALL US TOLL FREE 8 0 0 . 7 8 7. 2 2 6 2

Guiding You to Tomorrow
Urbana faculty members are experts in their field
and passionate about teaching. They spark thought-
provoking discussions and challenge students
intellectually. Unlike some institutions, our classes
are taught exclusively by faculty – not teaching
assistants or graduate students. Plus, our professors
are part of the fabric of the campus community.
They attend student events, eat in the dining hall,
and mentor students.
With an average class size of 16
students, you will create lasting
bonds with professors, 74% of
which hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent
degree in their subject area.

When you graduate from Urbana – whether it’s in
athletic training, business, education, or any of our
other programs of study – you will be prepared to
exceed the high expectations of the professional
world. No matter which of our academic majors
you select, Urbana offers a solid, liberal arts based
education. This experience encourages students to
immerse themselves in their studies while
simultaneously building the skills needed to thrive
after graduation.
With the Future in Mind
We understand the importance of connecting academics
to the real world. Urbana Quest, offered through Career
Services, can help you make connections with potential
future employers and graduate schools. With Career
Services as your guide, you can build sharp interviewing
skills, craft an impressive resume, or find the graduate
school that’s right for you.
The fact that Urbana students are well-prepared is
evident by their success – 89% are employed or have
continued their education six months after graduation.
Of those employed, 78% are working in a field related
to their major. Our graduates become attorneys, social
workers, business managers, athletic trainers, teachers,
financial analysts, police officers, and more. If you can
dream the goal, Urbana will help you achieve it.
Motivated students should
apply to the Honors
Program. It’s an experience
that provides challenging
academics and builds
leadership. Honors students
have the opportunity to
study abroad. Our students
have studied in Belize,
Ghana and other countries.
Jump In
Learning is not confined to the classroom! Our
students travel abroad for research, service-learning,
and study purposes. The span of people and
cultures at Urbana allows for a broader dialogue
and a better understanding of our global community
– some of our students come from as far as China.
My work on the Student ActivitiesCommittee has made my self-confidence
shoot through the roof. There are so manyopportunities here to make great friends.
