The interview is a required component of the College of Pharmacy application process and used to assess your interpersonal communication skills.

It is a great opportunity for you to highlight your problem solving abilities and to relay your professional and educational experience.

What is the interview for?

Interviews for all selected applicants will be conducted during March & April.

Interviews will be conducted at the URI College of Pharmacy.

When and Where?

Arrive no more than 10 minutes early to the interview room in the School of Pharmacy.

Allow plenty of time for traveling and parking. Please set aside 1 hr for the interview. Please bring proof of identification including a

picture ID.

On the Day

Three applicants will be interviewed at one time with 3 interviewers. These individuals will be faculty, pharmacists and final year students.

Interview Format

Interview questions will focus on the following 3 topic areas: Commitment to pharmacy profession Conflict resolution Personal insight

Interview Questions

Dress

Professional attire is recommended. We suggest that you dress in what is known as business casual.

The interviewee should be neatly dressed, well put together, and professional looking.

As you can see, this style is crisp, neat and clean with no tight or baggy clothing.

Interviewers will submit their scores independently to the Admissions Committee.

Students who are guaranteed for interview and are successful in the interview may be notified of provisional (pending spring grades) acceptance shortly after the interview.

Others will be notified by middle to end of May. The Admissions Committee will evaluate the

interview scores along with your application, your PCAT score and your overall academic record with particular emphasis on the 39 credits of Math & Science courses.

Post Interview

You have now received notification that you have been granted an interview.

Please fill out your availability through the doodle website. We will then notify you by email as to your exact interview day and time.

If you must cancel or re‐schedule your interview, please call at least 5 days in advance before your scheduled date.

Scheduling your Interview

Practice your interviewing skills. An excellent way to develop your interviewing skills is to conduct a "mock interview" with a family member and/or friend.

Look professional Professional appearance is an important part of the

interviewing process. Think positive

Feeling positive projects confidence and enthusiasm. Listen to the interviewer

Active listening helps to establish rapport and cues for how you should act in the interview.
