A native o Newark, N.J., the 5-11, 185 lb. guard joined the Runnin Rams ater a successul rsseason with the URI ootball team. He was Rhodys top receiver this past season, pulling in a team-high 48 catches or 500yards and three touchdowns. He transerred to Rhode Island ater two years at Dean College, where he was also a two-sport student-athlete. Last year, in 16 games, Baskerville averaged 12.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 7.9 assists and 2.8 steals

    outerbridge crossingSince returning to the Rhode Island lineup on Dec. 29, Orion Outerbridge has emerged as the top scoring reserve in thAtlantic 10 conerence. The 6-9 orward is averaging 9.3 points and 20.5 minutes o the bench. His 4.8 rebounds pegame rank second among all A-10 reserves. Outerbridge is shooting 58.5% rom the oor in eight games.

    Marquis Jones last-second 3-pointer ratted out as Rhode Island dropped a 69-67 decision at Massachusetts onSaturday aternoon. Rhody started o the game strong, building a nine-point lead, ater a Ben Eaves layup made i21-12 with 9:21 let in the period. Eaves added a 3-pointer on the Rams next possession. The junior orward scored al10 o his points in the rst hal, leading Rhode Island to a 33-27 lead at the break. In the second hal, UMass cut thelead to three - at 40-37 with 14:22 to go - beore a 9-3 push over the next 2:44 gave Rhody a 49-40 advantage. The ruwas capped by a Lamonte Ulmer steal and layup with 11:22 to go. From there, the Minutemen countered with a 12-run over the next 5:30, giving them a 52-50 lead with 6:08 to go. A tip-in by Will Martell put Rhody back up by three(55-52) with 5:13 remaining. Both teams would trade baskets until a putback by UMass with 2:29 to go gave themthe lead or good. Jones would tie the game at 67-67 with two ree throws with 39 seconds, setting up a nal playor UMass Ricky Harris, who hit the gamewinner with three seconds let. Harris led all scorers with 28 points. Joneled URI with 15 points and six assists, while Delroy James added 12 points and seven rebounds. Ulmer tallied his sixthdouble-double o the season, with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

    Delroy James scored 17 o his team-high 20 points in the second hal as Rhode Island dropped an83-75 decision at #5/4 Pittsburgh in the opening game o the 2010 2K Classic Beneting Coachesvs. Cancer. Rhody built as much as an eight-point lead in the rst hal on the Panthers, thanksto the hot outside shooting o Akeem Richmond and Nikola Malesevic. The sophomore duocombined to connect on 6-o-11 rom beyond the arc. URI led 36-28 ater a Will Martell jumper

    with 1:31 let in the rst hal. But Pittsburgh would score nine unanswered points to close outthe hal, take a 37-36 lead at the break. In the second hal, the Panthers connected on 6-o-8 tostart the second hal, but could not put away the Runnin Rams. James connected on his second3-pointer o the hal at the 12:02 mark, tying the ballgame at 53-53. A traditional three-pointplay with 5:08 let gave Pittsburgh its largest lead o the game - eight points - at 70-62. But a12-6 push over the next 3:27 - thanks to deep balls rom Malesevic and two rom James - made ita two-point game with 1:41 to go. Rhody had a chance to tie with a Richmond 3-point attempt,but did not convert the shot. Richmond ended with 16 points, while Malesevic added a career-high 13 points (4-6 3FG) o the bench.     Delroy James logged the second 30-point game o his career as he nished with a game andseason-high 33 points to lead Rhode Island to a 74-68 victory over Drexel. Marquis Jones adde11 points and a team-high six rebounds and Will Martell added 10 points. Rhody struggleoensively in the early going as it did not score a basket until the 17:37 mark o the rst hal. ThRams got on track thanks to the hot shooting o James and Martell as they combined to score 1o URIs rst 21 points. During the rst 20 minutes no team lead by more than ve points. Rhody

    trailed 31-27 with 4:24 remaining until the break, but the Rams responded with a 9-2 run to closout the rst hal and take a 36-33 lead into the locker room. No team lead by more than threpoints in the rst ve minutes o the second hal. Drexel cut URIs lead to one on our separateoccasions, but could never take the lead. With just under 15 minutes to go in the game, Rhodybegan to make its move as it went on an 11-2 push to take a 53-43 lead with under 10 minuteto go in the game. James led the way as he scored nine o the Rams 11 points during the stretchRhody went on to take its largest lead at the 6:41 mark as sophomore Akeem Richmond drilleda 3-pointer to give the Rams a 62-49 lead.
