Forum(NTSF) scheduled for May 14-16, 2013.

This annual event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, locatednear the downtown business and entertainment districts in Buffalo,New York. The 2013 meeting is co-sponsored by DOE's Offices ofEnvironmental Management and Nuclear Energy and follows severalhighly successful yearly gatherings. It is co-hosted by theCouncil ofState Governments Eastern Regional Conferenceand the Northeast

High-Level Radioactive Waste Transportation Task Force.

The NTSF meeting brings together states, tribal nations and other

stakeholders with federal officials in addressing key nationalradioactive waste transportation issues.

The event features informative presentations and useful discussionsabout transportation activities associated with DOE program officesand field sites. The agenda will also address National NuclearSecurity Administration, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, USDepartment of Transportation and other federal agency actions.

Day 1 is devoted to state/regional group meetings, a tribalnation caucus, NTSF working group meetings and anewcomer's orientation.

Day 2 includes a plenary session, focusing on nationalprogram updates and presentations on other transportation-related activities, followed by breakout sessions on varioustopic areas.

Day 3 features a morning NTSF wrap-up session followedby a tour of DOE's West Valley Demonstration Project.

The NTSF promotes transparency, openness, and accountability for DOE's offsitetransportation activities through collaboration with state and tribal nation governments. NTSFmeetings, webinars and other activities are particularly designed for personnel associated withpackaging and transportation, emergency management, security, inspection and enforcement,nuclear technology regulation and radiation protection.
