SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
Preparing the GameYou will need to use the Replace… function to enter the categories, because they appear on multiple slides.•From the menus, choose Edit > Replace… or press Ctrl-H.•In the Find what: box, enter THE EARLY COLONIES.•In the Replace with: box, enter your first category.•Repeat for all five categories.You may also use the same procedure to change the dollar values (to create a Double Jeopardy! game, for example).On each question slide, replace the present text with the appropriate question for the category and dollar value; on the answer slide following it, replace the present text with the correct answer (in the form of a question).You will also need to create the Final Jeopardy category, question and answer.Daily DoublesTo create a Daily Double, the Daily Double slides must be linked to the game board, and then to the appropriate question slide.•From one of the Daily Double slides (note which one you use), right-click on the >> symbol and choose Hyperlink > Edit Hyperlink…•From the list under Select a place in this document…, scroll down to and select the first instance of the category and dollar value (this is the question slide; the second instance is the answer slide). Click OK.•Go to the GAME BOARD slide, right-click on the dollar value of the Daily Double question and choose Hyperlink > Edit Hyperlink…•From the list, scroll down to DAILY DOUBLE 1 or 2 slide (which ever you used) and click OK.
Playing the GameYou may enter names for three contestants (or teams); these will only be visible if you utilize the Score Board feature.Click on the appropriate value on the Game Board to go to that question.Each slide has a built-in timer that counts down 10 seconds. If you wish to use it, click anywhere on the slide to begin the countdown. If you do not wish to use it, you must click on the ? icon at the bottom of the slide to advance to the answer.If you would like to reset the timer to count down again (in case a player guesses incorrectly), hit the Backspace key, and click on the slide again.On the answer slide, click the # symbol to return to the Game Board. Click on the $ symbol to go to the Score Board.When using the Score Board feature, use the + and – buttons to increase or decrease each player’s score by increments of $100. To return to the game, click Hide Scoreboard. NOTE: Do not click the Close square in the upper right hand corner! This will cause the Score Board to reset and scores to be erased.From the Game Board, click on FINAL>> to go to Final Jeopardy! Click on the $ symbol to view the Score Board.
