China-US cross border experience ■ Greenland USA, a subsidiary of Greenland Group Co., in

closing on the acquisition of a 70% interest in the US$5 billion Pacific Park (formerly known as Atlantic Yards) development project in Brooklyn

■ Fosun International in its US$725 million acquisition of One Chase Manhattan Plaza in New York from JPMorgan Chase. The 60-story, 2.2 million-square-foot office building was once the headquarters of Chase Manhattan Bank

■ Greenland USA in the US$145 million purchase of LA Metropolis in Los Angeles, California in anticipation of the development of a US$1 billion four tower mixed- use project involving hotel, residential condominium and retail components

■ Ping An Real Estate Co., Ltd. in a joint venture sponsored by Tishman Speyer Properties to develop Pier 4 in Boston Harbor as a high-end mixed-use project

■ Ping An Trust Co. Ltd. in the structuring of private equity investment of up to US$300 million into distressed US real estate fund managed by a major US-based asset manager

■ Beijing Capital Group in their joint venture with Trammell Crow Company to acquire and invest in portfolio real estate assets in the US

■ China Construction America, Inc. (CCA) in its purchase of a 320,000 square foot Class-A office property in Morris Township, New Jersey. The US$71 million transaction is the first investment property purchased in the US by CCA

■ Bank of China in the US$275 million refinancing of the Rego Park II, a 610,000-square-foot shopping center in central Queens, New York, owned by a public REIT; a US$170 million refinance of the Mandarin Oriental, a five-star hotel that is part of the Time Warner Center in New York’s Columbus Circle; and the US$3.5 billion refinance of the Venetian Macau casino resort
