1)  Statements:

a.  Statement on MRT, LRT, NLEX, SLEX, Hikes, etc entitled Sa Buwan ng Pagmamahalan has been drafted

subject to the approval of the body.

i.  Include low wage amidst fare hikes

ii.  Include number of family and needed wage to survive per day.

iii.  Incorporate the issue of budget cut- how budget cut is recurring in the issue of services.

iv.  Upcoming Dialoge: MRT LRT Fare Hike at the Santolan Station, February 4, Student Councils are

invited to attend.

2)  Finance Committee

a.  The standing proposal is that Councilor Mariazeta will head the committee. Councilor Mariazeta

manifested that she still wants to head the Basic Student Services Committee however, it is clearlyspecified in the house rules that all Councilors can only hold one committee. In the end, it was decided

that this will be considered a special case: Councilor Mariazeta will still head the BSS Committee while

also acting as the Finance Head of the Council.

b.  A Secretary’s Certificate is needed for the change of signatory in the bank and an authorization letter

from Councilor Estrella informing the bank of his status in the council.

c.  Councilor Estrella also needs to accomplish the Financial Report for the 1st

Semester.

3)  Ways and Means Committee: Brand Sale and UP RApple

a.  Northface and Jansport Brand Sale is from 10AM-5PM, 1st

week of February.

b.  The orientation is 8AM tomorrow for all USC members.

c.  College Representative Go, project head for the Brand Sale, distributed a sheet for the shifting of theUSC members.

d.  With regard to UP RApple, OVCSA did not approve of the project because its gambling. The committee

will continue coordinating with the office given that, before, even the administration had a car raffle for

their centennial year.

4)  Education and Research Committee: Alternative Classroom Learning Experience

a.  The list of approved topics has already been uploaded in the groups. 80 organizations will be

participating in the ACLE.

b.  Councilor David will be coordinating with Chancellor Cao and Prof. Yacat (CSSP College Secretary)

tomorrow for the venues.

5)  Student’s Legal Aid and Action Center 

a.  Keep it Simple Student: Bill of Rights Primer in cooperation with CSSPSC will be this February 3 already,

1-3PM at PH 400.

6)  Mass Media

a.  The Oblation has been circulated already.

7)  Secretariat

a.  The minutes of the past meetings have been uploaded already. 

b.  Secretary General Borja also warned College Representative Aldiosa (Music) and Almonina (SLIS) of 

possible expulsion from the Council due to four consecutive absences.

c.  The PET Project has been moved to allow the volunteers to help with the UP Fair. 

8)  UP Fair

a.  Vice-Chairperson Agudo reported that the administration already gave their verbal permit that the fair

will push through. However, due to the letter forwarded by CMC Professor to VC Elizabeth Enriquez

regarding the Overpricing of booths, even the verbal permit has been withdrawn. The Committee is

currently tapping through all legal and diplomatic channels to coordinate with the administration.

b.  The committee will be organizing a meeting with the OVCSA. Hopefully all the USC members and

participating organizations will be able to join the meeting. Target date is on Thursday, 11:30-1

c.  With regard to the preparations for the Fair, Vice-Chair Agudo requested for everyone to drop by the

office during free time to help with the errands needed for the fair. She noted that no specific task

delegations will be posted. Coordination can only be achieved if everyone will be readily on call.

d.  Specific Tasking: Nico- Blacklight for ticket checking. 

e.  T-shirt for UP Fair: The t-shirt costs 180Php, Jacket at 1,000Php. 50% of the payment due next GA. 

Councilor Salinas left at this point: 9:02PM.

f.  Uniform for the UP Fair: 

i.  Tuesday: Fair Shirt 

ii.  Wednesday: Collared Shirt-USC 

iii.  Thursday: Fair Shirt 

iv.  Friday: Collared Shirt- USC 

v.  Saturday: Fair Shirt 

vi.  WEAR USC ID- All nights.

g.  College Representative Bien and Cruz volunteered to help with the wirings and other electrical matters

for the fair.

9)  Other Matters

a.  Business Concessionaire’s Office Concern regarding DHL and USC’s endorsement letter: The BCO is

asking for an endorsement letter from the USC with regard to the DHL. The USC decided to not give an

endorsement letter until the following questions have been clarified:

i.  What is the role of the USC in the DHL’s stay in Vinzons? Why is our endorsement necessary? 

ii.  What is the breakdown of the money given to the USC.

b.  GA is every Monday till the day of the Fair.

The GA ended at 9:15PM.
