1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning the use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep detergents away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when

the door is open.• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user

maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

1.2 General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household

and similar applications such as:– farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices

and other working environments;– by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and

other residential type environments.• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• The operating water pressure (minimum and

maximum) must be between 0.5 (50) / 8 (800) bar (kPa)• Obey the maximum number of 15 place settings.• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by

the manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre or asimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Put knives and cutlery with sharp points in the cutlerybasket with the points down or in a horizontalposition.

• Do not leave the appliance with the door open, toavoid a tripping hazard.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mains plug from thesocket.

• Do not use high pressure water sprays and/or steamto clean the appliance.

• The appliance is to be connected to the water mainsusing the new supplied hose-sets. Old hose sets mustnot be reused.

• The ventilation openings in the base (if applicable)must not be obstructed by a carpet.

• Some dishwasher detergents are strongly alkaline.They can be extremely dangerous if swallowed. Avoidcontact with the skin and eyes and keep children awayfrom the dishwasher when the door is open.

• Check that the detergent receptacle is empty aftercompletion of the wash cycle.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

2.1 Installation

WARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Do not install or use the appliance

where the temperature is less than 0°C.

• Follow the installation instructionssupplied with the appliance.

• Always take care when moving theappliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.

• Make sure that the appliance isinstalled below and adjacent to safestructures.

2.2 Electrical connection

WARNING!Risk of fire and electricshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.

• Make sure that the parameters on therating plate are compatible with theelectrical ratings of the mains powersupply.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable needto be replaced, this must be carriedout by our Authorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

2.3 Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water

hoses.• Before connection to new pipes,

pipes not used for a long time, whererepair work has been carried out or

new devices fitted (water meters,etc.), let the water flow until it is cleanand clear.

• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use ofthe appliance.

• The water inlet hose has a safety valveand a sheath with an inner mainscable.

WARNING!Dangerous voltage.

• If the water inlet hose is damaged,immediately close the water tap anddisconnect the mains plug from themains socket. Contact the AuthorisedService Centre to replace the waterinlet hose.

2.4 Use• Do not sit or stand on the open door.• Dishwasher detergents are

dangerous. Obey the safety

instructions on the detergentpackaging.

• Do not drink and play with the waterin the appliance.

• Do not remove the dishes from theappliance until the programme iscomplete. Some detergent mayremain on the dishes.

• The appliance can release hot steamif you open the door while aprogramme operates.

• Do not put flammable products oritems that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

2.5 Service• To repair the appliance contact an

Authorised Service Centre.• Use original spare parts only.

2.6 Disposal

WARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door catch to prevent

children and pets to get closed in theappliance.

1) With this programme you have the most efficient use of water and energy consumption for crockeryand cutlery with normal soil. (This is the standard programme for test institutes).2) The appliance senses the degree of soil and the quantity of items in the baskets . It automatically ad-justs the temperature and the quantity of water, the energy consumption and the programme duration.3) With this programme you can wash a load with mixed soil. Very heavy soil in the lower basket andnormal soil in the upper basket. The pressure and the temperature of the water in the lower basket arehigher than in the upper basket.4) This programme has a high temperature rinsing phase for better hygiene results. During the rinsingphase, the temperature stays at 70 °C for at least 10 minutes.5) With this programme you can wash a load with fresh soil. It gives good washing results in a short time.6) With this programme you can quickly rinse dishes to prevent remains of food to bond on dishes andodours to form in the appliance. Do not use detergent with this programme.7) This is the most silent programme. The pump works at a very low speed to decrease the level of noise.Because of the low speed, the programme duration is long.

6. SETTINGS

6.1 Programme selectionmode and user modeWhen the appliance is in programmeselection mode it is possible to set aprogramme and to enter the user mode.

Settings available in the user mode:• The activation or deactivation of the

rinse aid empty notification.• The level of rinse aid according to the

required dosage.• The activation or the deactivation of

the option AirDry.

As the appliance stores the savedsettings, there is no need to configureit before every cycle.

How to set the programmeselection modeThe appliance is in programme selectionmode when the programme indicator

flashes and the display shows theprogramme duration.

After activation, the appliance is inprogramme selection mode by default. Ifnot, set the programme selection modethe following way:

Press and hold simultaneously Delay and Option until the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.

How to enter user modeMake sure the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.

To enter user mode, press and holdsimultaneously Delay and Option until

the indicators , and flash and the display is blank.

6.2 The rinse aid emptynotificationThe rinse aid helps to dry the disheswithout streaks and stains.

The rinse aid is automatically releasedduring the hot rinse phase.

When rinse aid chamber is empty, therinse aid indicator is turned on notifyingto refill rinse aid. If the drying results aresatisfactory while using multi-tabletsonly, it is possible to deactivate thenotification for refilling rinse aid.However, for best drying performance,always use rinse aid.

If standard detergent or multi-tabletswithout rinse aid are used, activate thenotification to keep the rinse aid refillindicator active.

How to deactivate the rinseaid empty notificationMake sure the appliance is in user mode.

1. Press Program.

• The indicators and are off.

• The indicator still flashes.• The display shows the current

setting.

– = the rinse aid emptynotification is deactivated.

– = the rinse aid emptynotification is activated.

2. Press Program to change the setting.3. Press on/off to confirm the setting.

6.3 The rinse aid levelIt is possible to set the released quantityof rinse aid between level 1 (minimumquantity) and level 6 (maximum quantity).Level 0 deactivates the rinse aiddispenser and no rinse aid is released.

Factory setting: level 4.

How to set the rinse aid levelMake sure the appliance is in user mode.

1. Press Start.

• The indicators and areoff.

• The indicator stillflashes.

• The display shows the current

setting: e.g. = level 4.

– The levels of rinse aid rangeare from 0A to 6A where level0A means no rinse aid is used.

2. Press Start repeatedly to change thesetting.

3. Press on/off to confirm the setting.

6.4 AirDryAirDry improves the drying results withless energy consumption.

During the drying phase, thedoor opens automaticallyand remains ajar.

CAUTION!Do not try to close theappliance door within 2minutes after automaticopening. This can causedamage to the appliance.If, afterwards, the door isclosed for another 3minutes, the runningprogramme ends.

AirDry is automatically activated with all

programmes excluding (ifapplicable).

To improve the drying performance referto the XtraDry option or activate AirDry.

CAUTION!If children have access to theappliance, it is advised todeactivate AirDry as openingthe door may pose a danger.

How to deactivate AirDryMake sure the appliance is in user mode.

1. Press Delay.

• The indicators and

are off.

• The indicator still flashes.• The display shows the current

setting.– = AirDry is deactivated.

– = AirDry is activated.2. Press Delay to change the setting.3. Press on/off to confirm the setting.

7. OPTIONS

Desired options must beactivated every time beforeyou start a programme.It is not possible to activateor deactivate options while aprogramme is running.

Not all options arecompatible with each other.If you select non compatibleoptions, the applianceautomatically deactivatesone or more of them. Onlythe indicators of the stillactive options are on.

7.1 XtraDryActivate this option to boost the dryingperformance. With XtraDry on, the

duration of some programmes, waterconsumption and the last rinsetemperature can be affected.

XtraDry is a permanent option for all

programmes other than andneed not to be selected at every cycle.

In the other programmes the setting ofXtraDry is permanent and it isautomatically used in next cycles. Thisconfiguration can be changed at anytime.

Every time isactivated, XtraDry is off andneeds to be chosenmanually.

Activating XtraDry deactivates TimeSaverand vice versa.

How to activate XtraDry

Press Option until the indicator is on.If the option is not applicable to theprogramme, the related indicator is offor it flashes quickly for a few seconds andthen goes out.The display shows the updatedprogramme duration.

7.2 TimeSaverThe TimeSaver allows to reduce theduration of a selected programme byapproximately 50%.

The washing results are the same as withthe normal programme duration. Thedrying results can decrease.

This option increases the pressure andthe temperature of the water. Thewashing and the drying phases areshorter.

By default, TimeSaver is off, but it ispossible to activate it manually. Thisoption cannot be combined withXtraDry.

How to activate TimeSaver

Press Option until the indicator is on.If the option is not applicable to theprogramme, the related indicator is offor it flashes quickly for a few seconds andthen goes out.The display shows the updatedprogramme duration.

7.3 ExtraHygieneThis option provides better hygieneresults by keeping the temperature at 70°C for at least 10 minutes during the lastrinsing phase.

How to activate ExtraHygiene

Press Option until the indicator is on.If the option is not applicable to theprogramme, the related indicator is offor it flashes quickly for a few seconds andthen goes out.The display shows the updatedprogramme duration.

8. BEFORE FIRST USE1. Fill the rinse aid dispenser.2. Open the water tap.3. Start a program to remove any

processing residuals that can still beinside the appliance. Do not usedetergent and do not load thebaskets.

8.1 How to fill the rinse aiddispenser

CAUTION!Only use rinse aidspecifically designed fordishwashers.

1. Open the lid (C).2. Fill the dispenser (B) until the rinse

aid reaches the marking ''MAX''.3. Remove the spilled rinse aid with an

absorbent cloth to prevent too muchfoam.

4. Close the lid. Make sure that the lidlocks into position.

Fill the rinse aid dispenserwhen the indicator (A)becomes clear.

If you use multi-tablets andthe drying performance issatisfactory, the rinse aidrefill indication can bedisabled.We recommend to alwaysuse rinse aid for betterdrying performance, also incombination with multi-tablets containing rinsingagent.

9. DAILY USE1. Open the water tap.2. Press the on/off button to activate

the appliance.Make sure that the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.

• If the rinse aid empty message isshown fill the rinse aid dispenser.

3. Load the baskets.4. Add the detergent.5. Set and start the correct programme

for the type of load and the degreeof soil.

9.1 Using the detergent

1. Press the release button (A) to openthe lid (C).

2. Put the detergent, in powder ortablets, in the compartment (B).

3. If the programme has a prewashphase, put a small quantity of

detergent on the inner part of theappliance door.

4. Close the lid. Make sure that the lidlocks into position.

9.2 Setting and starting aprogramme

The Auto Off functionThis function decreases energyconsumption by deactivatingautomatically the appliance when it is notoperating.

The function comes into operation:• 5 minutes after the completion of the

programme.• After 5 minutes if the programme has

not started.

Starting a programme1. Press the on/off button to activate

the appliance. Make sure that theappliance is in programme selectionmode and the door is closed.

2. Press Program again and again untilthe indicator of the desiredprogramme is on.

The display shows the programmeduration.3. Set the applicable options.4. Press Start to start the programme.

• The indicator of the runningphase is on.

• The programme duration starts todecrease with steps of 1 minute.

Starting a programme withdelay start1. Set a programme.2. Press Delay again and again until the

display shows the desired delay time(from 1 to 24 hours).

3. Press Start to start the countdown.• The delay indicator comes on to

confirm the start of thecountdown.

• The countdown starts to decreasewith steps of 1 hour. Only the lasthour decreases with steps of 1minute.

When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts and the indicator ofthe running phase comes on. The delayindicator is off.

Cancelling the delay start whilethe countdown operatesWhen you cancel the delay start youhave to set a programme and optionsagain.

Press and hold simultaneously Delay and Option until the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.

Cancelling a programmePress and hold simultaneously Delay and Option until the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.Make sure that there is detergent in thedetergent dispenser before you start anew programme.

Opening the door while theappliance operatesOpening the door while a programme isrunning stops the appliance. It may affectthe energy consumption and theprogramme duration. After closing thedoor, the appliance continues from thepoint of interruption.

If the door is opened formore than 30 secondsduring the drying phase, therunning programme ends. Itdoes not happen if the dooris opened by AirDryfunction.

End of the programmeWhen the programme is completed the

display shows 0:00 and the indicatoris on.

All buttons are inactive except for theon/off button.

1. Press the on/off button or wait forthe Auto Off function toautomatically deactivate theappliance.

If you open the door before theactivation of Auto Off, the applianceis automatically deactivated.

10. HINTS AND TIPS

10.1 GeneralThe following hints will ensure optimalcleaning and drying results in daily useand also help to protect theenvironment.

• Remove larger residues of food fromthe dishes into the waste bin.

• Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand.When needed, use the prewashprogramme (if available) or select aprogramme with a prewash phase.

• Always use the whole space of thebaskets.

• When loading the appliance, makesure that the dishes can becompletely reached and washed bythe water released from the spray armnozzles. Make sure that items do nottouch or cover each other.

• You can use dishwasher detergentand rinse aid separately or you canuse the multi-tablets. Follow theinstructions written on the packaging.

• Select the programme according tothe type of load and degree of soil.With the ECO programme you havethe most efficient use of water andenergy consumption for crockery andcutlery with normal soil.

10.2 Using rinse aid anddetergent• Only use rinse aid and detergent for

dishwasher. Other products can causedamage to the appliance.

• Detergent tablets do not fully dissolvewith short programs. To preventdetergent residues on the tableware,we recommend that you use thetablets with long programs.

• Do not use more than the correctquantity of detergent. Refer to theinstructions on the detergentpackaging.

10.3 Loading the baskets• Only use the appliance to wash items

that are dishwasher-safe.• Do not put in the appliance items

made of wood, horn, aluminium,pewter and copper.

• Do not put in the appliance items thatcan absorb water (sponges,household cloths).

• Remove remaining food from theitems.

• Make soft the remaining burned foodon the items.

• Put hollow items (cups, glasses andpans) with the opening down.

• Make sure that cutlery and dishes donot bond together. Mix spoons withother cutlery.

• Make sure that glasses do not touchother glasses.

• Put small items in the cutlery basket.• Put light items in the upper basket.

Make sure that the items do notmove.

• Make sure that the spray arm canmove freely before you start aprogramme.

10.4 Before starting aprogrammeMake sure that:

• The filters are clean and correctlyinstalled.

• The spray arms are not clogged.• There is dishwasher rinse aid (unless

you use multi- tablets).• The position of the items in the

baskets is correct.• The programme is applicable for the

type of load and for the degree ofsoil.

• The correct quantity of detergent isused.

10.5 Unloading the baskets1. For improved drying results with the

most efficient use of energy selectthe AirDry option, otherwise openthe door by approximately 10cm atthe end of the program.

2. Allow the tableware to cool for 30 -40 minutes.

3. Hot items can be easily damaged,allow them to cool down beforeremoving from appliance.

4. First remove items from the lowerbasket then the upper basket.

At the end of the programwater can still remain on thesides and on the door of theappliance.

11. CARE AND CLEANING

WARNING!Before maintenance,deactivate the appliance anddisconnect the mains plugfrom the main socket.

Dirty filters and cloggedspray arms decrease thewashing results. Make acheck regularly and, ifnecessary, clean them.

11.1 Cleaning the filtersThe filter system is made of 3 parts.

1. Turn the filter (B) counterclockwiseand remove it.

2. Remove the filter (C) out of filter (B). 3. Remove the flat filter (A).

4. Wash the filters.

5. Make sure that there are no residuesof food or soil in or around the edgeof the sump.

6. Put back in place the flat filter (A).Make sure that it is correctlypositioned under the 2 guides.

7. Reassemble the filters (B) and (C).8. Put back the filter (B) in the flat filter

(A). Turn it clockwise until it locks.

CAUTION!An incorrect position of thefilters can cause badwashing results and damageto the appliance.

11.2 Cleaning the upper sprayarmWe recommend to clean regularly theupper spray arm to avoid soil to clog theholes.

Clogged holes can cause unsatisfactorywashing results.

1. Pull out the upper basket.2. To disengage the spray arm from the

basket, press the spray arm upwardsin the direction indicated by thelower arrow and simultaneously turnit clockwise.

3. Wash the spray arm under runningwater. Use a thin pointed tool, e.g.toothpick, to remove particles of soilfrom the holes.

4. To engage again the spray arm tothe basket, press the spray armupwards in the direction indicated bythe lower arrow and simultaneouslyturn it counterclockwise until it locksinto place.

11.3 External cleaning• Clean the appliance with a moist soft

cloth.• Only use neutral detergents.• Do not use abrasive products,

abrasive cleaning pads or solvents.

11.4 Internal cleaning• Carefully clean the appliance,

including the rubber gasket of thedoor, with a soft damp cloth.

• To maintain the performance of yourappliance, use a cleaning productdesigned specifically for dishwashersat least once a month. Carefully followthe instructions on the packaging ofthe product.

• Do not use abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, sharp tools,strong chemicals, scourer or solvents.

• Using short-duration programmesregularly can cause grease andlimescale buildup inside theappliance. Run long-durationprogrammes at least twice a month toprevent the buildup.

12. TROUBLESHOOTINGIf the appliance does not start or it stopsduring operation. Before you contact anAuthorised Service Centre, check if youcan solve the problem by yourself withthe help of the information in the table.

WARNING!Repairs not properly donemay result in serious risk tothe safety of the user. Anyrepairs must be performedby qualified personnel.

With some problems, the displayshows an alarm code.

The majority of problems that canoccur can be solved without the needto contact an Authorised ServiceCentre.

• The amperage is insufficient to supply simultaneously allthe appliances in use. Check the socket amperage andthe capacity of the meter or turn off one of the applian-ces in use.

12.1 The washing and drying results are not satisfactory

• Plastic items may need to be towel dried.• For the best drying performance activate the option

XtraDry and set AirDry.• We recommend to always use rinse aid, even in com-

bination with multi-tablets.

There are whitish streaks orbluish layers on glasses anddishes.

• The release quantity of rinse aid is too much. Adjustthe rinse aid level to a lower level.

• The quantity of detergent is too much.

There are stains and dry waterdrops on glasses and dishes.

• The released quantity of rinse aid is not sufficient. Ad-just the rinse aid level to a higher level.

• The quality of the rinse aid can be the cause.

The dishes are wet. • For the best drying performance activate the optionXtraDry and set AirDry .

• The programme does not have a drying phase or hasa drying phase with low temperature.

• The rinse aid dispenser is empty.• The quality of the rinse aid can be the cause.• The quality of the multi-tablets can be the cause. Try a

different brand or activate the rinse aid dispenser anduse rinse aid and multi-tablets together.

The interior of the appliance iswet.

• This is not a defect of the appliance. it is caused bythe humidity in the air that condenses on the walls.

Unusual foam during washing. • Use the detergent for dishwashers only.• There is a leak in the rinse aid dispenser. Contact an

Authorised Service Centre.

• Water cannot wash away the detergent from the dis-penser. Make sure that the spray arm is not blocked orclogged.

• Make sure that items in the baskets do not impede thelid of the detergent dispenser from opening.

Odours inside the appliance. • Refer to "Internal cleaning".

Limescale deposits on the tuband on the inside of the door.

• Clean the appliance with appliance cleaners which areparticularly suitable for this purpose.

• Try different detergent.• Contact the detergent manufacturer.

Dull, discoloured or chippedtableware.

• Make sure that only dishwasher-safe items are washedin the appliance.

• Load and unload the basket carefully. Refer to basketloading leaflet.

• Place delicate items in the upper basket.

14.1 Adjusting the level of theapplianceA correct adjustment of the level of theappliance allows the door to close andseal correctly.

If the door does not close correctly,loosen or tighten the adjustable feet tolevel the appliance.

14.2 Water inlet hoseConnect the inlet hose to a water tapwith an external BSP thread spout of3/4''.

For best washing performance it isrecommended to connect the applianceto a cold water supply.

Energy savings can be made byconnecting the appliance to a Solarwater system and using economyoptions, however the water temperaturemust not exceed 60° C.

The water pressure must be in the limitsindicated in the chapter ''TECHNICALINFORMATION''. Make sure that thelocal water authority gives you theaverage mains pressure in your area.

In order to pass the safety valve throughthe kitchen cabinets, an opening of atleast 45 mm x 90 mm is needed.

14.3 Water drain hoseThe highest point of the drain hose mustbe no more than 600 mm from the floorand must have a continuous fall to theplumbing connection.

The drain hose can be lengthened usingadditional lengths and connectors. Thesemust be purchased from Electrolux Spare

Parts. The extension length must notexceed 2 metres.

The drain hose must be free ofobstructions.

Remove the sink plug when theappliance drains the water to preventthat the water goes back into theappliance.

The appliance has a security feature toprevent dirty water going back into theappliance. If the spigot of the sink has anon-return valve, this valve can cause theappliance to drain incorrectly. removethe non-return valve.

If you connect the water drain hose to atrap spigot under the sink, remove theplastic membrane. If you do not removethe membrane, remaining food cancause a blockage in the drain hosespigot.
