SAFETYFEATURESThermal switch:WhenTasticNeoworksinFANOFFmodeandthetemperatureinsidetheunitreaches55°C,thethermalswitchwillswitchonthefanautomatically.Whenthetemperaturedrops,thethermalswitchwill switch off the fan.

Do not allow insulation material to rest against the sides or top of the Tastic Neo unit when installed. This Tastic unit must be

installed horizontally in the ceiling. There is no IP rating on any IXL Tastic Neo.

TheIXLTasticNeorangehasbeendesignedtoexactingstandardstogiveyoumanyyearsoftrouble-freeoperation.ToensureyougetthemostfromyourTasticthereareafewsimplepointstokeepinmind.

HEATLAMPSTheIXLTasticNeouses800Wtungstenhalogenheatlampsinconjunctionwithreflectiveelements,foramoreefficientdispersionofradiantheat.Thetungstenhalogenlampsprovideinstantaneousheat,andaredesignedtoheatyouandnotyourbathroom-that’stheefficientwayinfraredheatworks.TogetthefullbenefitofTastic’stungstenhalogenwarmth,standdirectlyundertheheatlamps.IXL’sexclusivehalogenlampshavebeendesignedspecificallyforthisapplication,andconcentratetheirheatformaximumeffectiveness.Make sure you have the Tastic model that suits your bathroom ceiling height. This Tastic is manufacturedtoofferpeakperformancewithbathroomceilingheightsupto2.4m.

VENTILATIONToensureoptimumperformanceoftheexhaustfan,itisessentialthatthereisadequateairflowintoyourbathroomtohelptheTastic’sefficientexhaustfantoremovesteamwhileyoushower,ventingdirectlyoutside.YourTasticworksbydrawingsteam-ladenairfromtheroom,andaswithallexhaustfansitisessentialthatsufficientairinletsareprovided.Ensureadequateinletsexistthroughwindows,ventsorunderthedoor.Airflowpathfrominlettofanshouldideallypassoverthesteamsource.

CENTRE LIGHTSThe3compactfluorescentcentrelightsinTasticNeomodelsaredesignedtoprovidedirectionallightinginyourbathroom.Forspecifictaskslikeshavingorputtingmake-upon,youmayneedextralighting to suit your individual needs.Theheatlampscanalsobeusedtoprovideadditionalbrightilluminationforyourbathroom.Lightercolouredwallsanddecoralsohelpbrightenyourbathroombyreflectingmorelight.

Tastic®

Over-temperature switch (PTCR) (Hardwired Tastic Neo):Whenforanyreasonthetemperatureinsidetheunitreaches80°C,thePTCRwillcutoffpowertotheTasticNeo.ThePTCRcanberesetbyturningoffpowertotheunitattheisolatingswitchandallowingtocoolfor10-15minutes.InsuchacasetheServiceCentreshouldbecalledasthisisnotnormaloperation.Thermal fuse: (Remote Tastic Neo only)Whenforanyreasonthetemperatureinsidetheunitreaches93°C,thethermalfusewillcutoffpowertotheTasticNeo.InsuchacasetheServiceCentreshouldbecalledtoreplacethethermalfuse.

Ventilation RequirementsTastic®

Clearances

Thisappliancemustbemountedsothatthelowestpointisatleast2.3mabovethefloor.TheTasticbodyandductedblowerisdesignedtofitaceilingcavityorbetween–floorspacewithaminimumheight of 230 mm. The Tastic may be installed betweenjoistsusingthesuppliedtogglebolts (Fig.2c).EnsurethattheoutletoftheTasticisdirected towards the outer wall. If the desired orientation of the Tastic unit directs the ducting acrossceilingjoistsensurethattheclosestceilingjoistisnotwithin200mmoftheTasticoutlet.

Formaximumefficiencyandfanperformancethereareafewkeypointstokeepinmindwheninstallingyour Tastic.

SufficientairinletintoroomSteamwillonlyberemovedifthereissufficientflowofairthroughtheroom.Ensuregenerousinletsexistthroughwindows,ventsorunderthedoor.Airflowpathfrominlettofanshouldideallypassoverthesteamsources(seeFig.1).Bathroomswhichhavehighceilings,arelargerthanaverage,orhaveanopenshowermayallrequireadditional ventilation. Wiring – UK & Eire

Hardwired models 31111, 31112, 32111 & 32112: The wall switch should be located in accordance with theapplicableWiringRulesanditmustnotbeinstalledwhere it can be reached from the bath or shower recess or enclosure.Smart Switch models 31211 & 31212:SupplyshouldbeconnectedtotheTastic3-corepowerleadasperthediagrambelow.Theplugfittedtothepowercordistobecutoffandthewiresstrippedtoallowconnection.SeeFig.10.Alocalisolatingswitch(notsupplied)mustbeincorporatedinthefixedwiringtotheappliancetoallowdisconnectionofsupplyduringmaintenance. This isolating switch should be located in close proximitytotheTasticandmustbeinstalledinaccordancewithapplicableWiringCodes.The colours of the wires in the Tastic 3-core lead maynotcorrespondtothoseinthefixedwiring. Cut out hole for Tastic body1. Afterdeterminingthelocationofcomponents

according to the directions, mark out and cut apertureinceilingforTasticNEOunitusingthetemplatesuppliedwiththeTastic.Trimthetemplatetotheoutsideoftheblackoutlineallowing for the four rectangular notches.

InstallingtheDuctedBlowerNOTE: The transition is assembled to the main body beforethemainbodyhasbeensnappedintoplaceinthe ceiling.1. Feedductingandblowerthroughholeinceiling.

While feeding ducting into ceiling direct it towards theinstallationpositionoftheoutletgrille.Positionblower so that the short length of ducting is stretchedoutandTransitionpiecealongwithstrippedorterminatedwireissittingnexttotheholeasperFig.16.

2. Make the necessary electrical connections.Smart switch models: Connect ducted blower powercordintointerconnectingsocketprovidedandconnectpowercordtosocketoutlet.Hardwired models: Connect ducted blower powercordtoterminalblockasperwiringdiagram and connect wall switch to terminal blockaspercircuitdiagram.

FinalAssembly1. Cliptransitiontothebody,ensuringthattheductingtapedtothetransitionisnotdislodged.PositiontheTasticbodyintotheaperture,sothattheplasticendsupportsarerestingontheplaster.AstheTasticisraisedintoceiling,ensureelectricalcablesdonotrestoverTastic.Placethefour toggle bolts through the recesses cut into theplaster,(Fig.17)andtightenthebolts.ThiswillraisetheTasticbodyflushtotheceiling(Fig.18).

2. BringfasciaassemblyuptotheTasticbody.(Fig.19)ConnecttheearthingwiretothefasciaandconnecttheIRsensorlead(SmartSwitchmodels).

3. ClipfasciaintotheTasticbody.4. Usingcare,fitthetubularheatlampsintothelampholders.Becarefulnottotouchtheglasssurface as oils from skin can shorten the life of theglasslamp.Acleansoftclothortissueisrecommended.Ensurethatthewhitereflective

3. FixGrillebasewithfour6Gscrewsandsnapfitthe Grille louvres over the Grille base as shown in Fig.21.

20MinuteAutoRun-onFan(RequiredinEuropeanCountries)This Tastic includes an automatic run-on for the fan. Each time the fan is switched on, it will run for a minimumof20minutes.IfyouswitchthefanOFFduring this time, the fan will run-on for the remainder ofthe20minutes.IfyouswitchthefanOFFafterthefanhasrunforatleast20minutes,thefanwillstop. SeeFig.26forhandsetswitchsettings.

Holdyourotherhandbelowtheotherendoftheshieldtocatchitwhenitdrops.

Iftheshieldchips,cracksorbreaks,donotusetheheatlampwithoutit.ReplaceitwithIXLTastic® NeoTemperedGlassShieldPart12200,notnormalhouseholdglass.

RemovingOldHeatLampAspring-loadedsocketholdseachendoftheheatlamp.

Gentlygrasptheheatlampandpushittowardsonesocket.

Whenitisfreeoftheothersocket,carefullypulltheheatlampdowntowardsyou.

Theheatlampisnotrecyclable.Disposeofitlikeanormalincandescentlightglobe(i.e.unbroken,withyourgeneralwaste,wrappedinanypaperorclothyouused).

b.tohavethegoodsrepairedorreplacedifgoodsfailtobeofacceptablequalityandthefailuredoesnotamounttoamajorfailure.
