1. MOUSE OPERATION
Thisdevicecanbecontrolledusingtheremotecontrol,frontpanelorbyusingtheUSBmouse.WehavefoundthatusingtheUSBmouseistheeasiestandmostefficientwayofcontrollingthesystemandwiththisinmindwehavecreatedthemanualbasedonusingthesystemwiththeUSBmouse.
Themouseoperatesonasimilarbasistoacomputeroperatedmouse;leftandrightclick,doubleclick,click and drag and scrolling.

2. USING THE SYSTEM
a. Start-up Yourdeviceisfullyoperationalandavailabletousewhenyouhearthebeepaftersystembootup. Atdefaultthesystemissettocontinuousrecordonallchannels,pleaseobservethenotificationiconsoneachchannel.
ThedefaultGUIlanguagewillbeEnglish.Changingoflanguageisdescribedinsection3ofthismanual.
Thedevicewillbootupinitiallyinmulti-screenmodeandwillsavethelastconfiguredscreenconfigurationafterre-boot.
YoucanalsosetupscreenlayoutfavouritesintheDisplaymenu.
b. On Screen Display Icons Wheninliveviewmodeyouwillseethefollowingiconsdisplayintheviewingwindowsofeachchannel.
c. Default Password and System Login Bydefault,theloginpasswordisthesameastheusername(forexample:Username:guestPassword:guest/ Username:adminPassword:admin). Backspace/Delete. ConfirmEntry/Closekeyboard. Change to capital letters etc. Space.
Byclickingonafieldsuchasapasswordortextentryitwilldisplaytheabovevirtualkeyboard. Thekeyboardoperatesjustlikearegularon-screenkeyboard,leftclicktoselectindividualcharacters andShifttochangetheletterstouppercasecharacters.

Real time PlaybackThisfunctionallowsyoutoviewthelast5~60minutes(Programmable)ofvideofromthatselectedchannel.Tooperatethisfunctionjustclickanditwillplaybackrecordedvideo(ifavailable)from5minutesago.
NOTE:Atdefaulttherecorderwillplaybackfrom5minutesago,thiscanbeincreasedupto60minutesbychangingthevalueof‘Real time Play’ in Settings > General
Digital Zoom➢• Pressthebuttontoenabledigitalzoomonthechanneltheiconwillthenchangeto➢• Clickanddragaboxaroundtheareayouwanttozoominon.➢• Clickanddragtopantheselectedzoom.➢• Rightclicktoresetbacktofullview.➢• Clickagaintodisabledigitalzoom,theselectedareawillbeatthesamezoomuntilyourightclickinsidethechannel.

3. CHANGING THE LANGUAGE
BydefaultyoursystemwillbootupinEnglish,ifyouwishtochangetheGUIlanguagepleasefollowtheseinstructions(languageavailabilitydependsonmodel).

2. Selectyourrequiredlanguagefromthe dropdown menu.
3. PressOKtosaveandconfirmre-boot.
4. Thedevicewillnowre-bootintothe selected language.

2. Go to Channel NameandclickModify.
3. Then enter the names for your cameras.

5. PTZTraceisafunctionwhichcontrolsthePTZwiththe movementofthemousepointer.

6. TIME FUNCTIONS
Itishighlyrecommendyousetthesystemtimeonthedayofinstalltoavoidanyduplicationinfiles.
a. Setting the date and time. 1. AccessthemainmenuandgotoSettings>General. 2. EnterthecurrentDateandTimeaccordingtothedateandtimeformat. 3. ClickSavenexttothetime.
b. Setting up DST (Daylight Saving Time) DSTsettingswillmovethetimeforwardandbackforsummertimeadjustments.Thesystemwillhavethesettings forUKandIrelandSummerTimepre-filled.
c. Setting up NTP (Network Time Protocol) YoucanalsosyncyourdevicetoaninternetbasedNTPserver.

3. SetupofDST(DaylightSaving).

7. ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
MainMenu>Advanced>AccountManage
Everyuserinthesystemisinagroup,andreceivespermissiontoaccesssystemfunctionsbasedontheirgroupsettings.
The following user groups are setup at default in your system: • admin: Accountsintheadmingrouphaveaccesstoallmenusandcancontroluseraccounts. • user: Accountsintheusergrouphavelimitedaccesstosystemmenus.
Youwillsee3usernamesintheaccountlist. • guest=Limiteduseraccesstoliveview,playback,backupandGeneralmenu. • admin=Fulladministratoraccesstoallfunctions. • default=Thisisasystemaccountusedforautomatedtasksthatcanbesetupinthedevice, this username will not be displayed in the drop down menu.
Whenaddingauseryoucancontrolpermissionstocertainpartsofthedevice(includingwhichcamerastheusercanviewremotelyaswellaswhichchannelscanbeplayedbackonthedevice).
a. Changing Passwords 1. AccessthemainmenuandgotoAdvanced > Account Manage, then click Modify Password. 2. Selecttheuserfromthedropdownlist. 3. Under Old Passwordenterthepreviouspassword. 4. UnderNew Password and Confirm enter the new password. 5. Click Save.
b. Adding Accounts 1. AccessthemainmenuandgotoAdvanced > Account Manage, then click Add User to display the following screen:

7. Youcannowenterthedetailsforthenewuseraccount. 1. User: Enterthedesiredusername. 2. Reusable: When this option is ticked it will allow this user to login multiple times simultaneously. 3. Password: Enterapasswordfortheaccount.RepeatpasswordunderConfirm. 4. Memo: Thisfieldisoptionalandisadescriptionoftheuseraccount. 5. User MAC: Optional,thisallowsyoutoentertheMACaddressyoupermittousewiththisaccount. 6 Group: Selectthegroupyouwanttheusertobepartof.
8. Inthebottomhalfofthescreen,youcandisablecertainpermissionsforthisuser. Dependingonwhichgroupyouhaveselecteditwillautomaticallyselectallpermissionfortheselectedgroup.Youcanonlyreduce the permissions for the account.
9. ClickSavetoaddtheuser.
c. Making Cameras Covert Ifyouwantcertaincamerastobeincovert/privacymodeonbootupyoucanmodifythe“default“username. Sowhenthesystembootsupyouwillseethecameralocksymbolontheparticularchannels.
1. AccessthemainmenuandgotoAdvanced > Account Manage, then click Modify User and change the username to default from the drop down list to display the following screen:
2. Onthebottomportionofthescreenyoucantoggleaccesstoparticularchannelsbytickingandun-ticking theboxnexttotheparticularchannels.
3. Click Save.
NOTE:Whenauserwithaccesstothechannelisloggedintheywillseethatcamerainliveview,to test your changes logout of the current username.

8. HARD DRIVE MANAGEMENT
MainMenu>Advanced>HDDManage
HDDManageallowsyoutoformatandmanagetheharddrivesthatareinstalledinyoursystem.
a. Formatting Hard Drives
NOTE: Formatting of Hard Drives erases all data and cannot be un-done. System Software and Settings will not be af-fected by formatting Hard Drives.
1. AccessthemainmenuandgotoAdvanced > HDD Mange.2. SelecttheHDDyouwanttoformatunderHDD No. 3. Under“Set to”, select Format.4. ClickExecuteandOKtoconfirmyouwishtoerasealldata.PleasewaitwhilethesystemformatstheHDD.5. PressOKandthesystemwillre-boot.

9. PLAYBACK
Playbackofthecontentthatisrecordedtoyourdevicecanbeaccessedinanumberofways.
• Fromtheliveviewscreen,rightclickandthenclickSearch / Playback. • AccesstheMainMenuandgotoSearch.
Youwillberequiredtologin,ifso,selectyourusernameandenteryourpassword(thedefaultpasswordisthesameastheusername).
1. Toviewrecordingssimplyselectthedateonthecalendar,alldaysingreencontainrecordings.
2. Selectthecamerasyouwishtoplayback,dependingonyourmodel,upto16channelscanbeplayedsimultaneously.
3. Whenyouhavethedateandchannelsselected,clickinsidethetimelinetobeginplayback.
4. Bydefaultthetimelinewillopenin24hourmode,thescopecanbechangedto2hr,1hr&30mininthebottom right hand corner of the screen.

a. Formatting the backup device
Itisrecommendedyouformatyourmemorydevicebeforedoingabackup.
NOTE: Formatting will erase all contents on the memory device.

b. Backing up Video

1. Insertabackupmediumintothesystembefore starting the backup process.
2. Onceavalidbackupmediumisdetecteditwillbe displayed in the backup list.
3. Ifthereismultipledevicesdetectedpleaseselect onlyonedevice.
4. ClickBackuptocontinue.
5. Youwillnowbeinthebackuppagewhereyouselect thefilesyouwanttobackup.
6. Selectthefileformatyouwishtobackupin,ifyouareusing aWindowsPCselectDAVandifyouareusingaMacselectASF.
7. Select1orallchannelsfromthedropdownlist.
8. Selectthestartandendtimeyouwishtobackup.
9. ClickAddandalistoffilesthatmatchyourselection will appear in the list.

Prerequisites• Yourdevicemustbeconnectedtothenetwork.• Ifaccessingremotelyportforwardingmustbesetuponyourrouter/firewall.• YoumusthaveaDYNDNSorStatic/FixedIPifaccessingovertheinternet.
WearebasingthistutorialonaccessingthedevicefromwithintheLAN(LocalAreaNetwork).

OntheaboveexamplewehaveenteredtheIPAddressofthedevicefollowedbytheHTTPPort(inred).
BoththeIPAddressandHTTPofyourdevicecanbefoundinthenetworksettingsofyourdevice.
