Slide 2 Using Express Scribe for Medical Transcription Setting up your Foot Pedal & Loading Dictations By: MTatHome.com 1 Slide 3 Foot Pedal Setup Wizard You can get to this wizard through the Options menu, then the Controller option. Your USB Foot Pedal must be connected before you click on the setup wizard. 2 Slide 4 Loading the Dictations Once you have completed the foot pedal set up wizard you will want to load your dictations. You can access the load box through the File menu then click on load dictations. You can also click on the LOAD button. 3 Slide 5 Finding your dictation files In the upper right hand corner you will see a yellow folder. Click on the yellow folder and then locate the folder on your computer that your dictation files are saved to. Open the dictation folder and choose the dictations you want to load. You can choose them one at a time, or you can hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard and click on multiple files. Once you have selected the file or files you want to open then click the Load button. TIP You cannot click on the load button until the dictation file(s) are highlighted (selected). 4 Slide 6 Loaded Dictation Area This is the area that your loaded dictation file will be once you have went through the loading steps. If you did everything correctly your dictation file or files will show up here. You will then choose the dictation you want to transcribe. If the foot pedal is hooked up you can control the play, rewind, and fast forward with it.
