Safety instructions

• Unplug from outlet when not in use. Do not leave the cleaner unattended while plugged in.

• Do not use with damaged cord or plug.• Do not use vacuum cleaner if it has been dropped,

damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water. • Keep the vacuum cleaner away from water; do not allow it

to get wet. If unit is wet, do not plug unit into wall socket or turn unit on.

• Do not handle the vacuum cleaner with wet hands.• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close

door on cord, pull cord around sharp corners or edges, or expose cord to heated surfaces.

• Do not unplug by pulling on cord.• To protect against electrical shock do not immerse cord,

plug, or appliance in water or other liquid.• Unplug from the mains outlet when not in use, before

putting on and taking off parts, and before cleaning.• The use of accessory attachments not recommended by

the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury. Only use the accessories supplied by the manufacturer.

Safety instructions

• This cleaner is intended for internal household use only, donot use outside or for anything other than its’ intendedpurpose.

• Do not use this vacuum to pick up water or any otherliquids, combustible substances or hot/burning objects.

• Only use the unit when fully assembled.• Never place your fingers or other objects into any part of

the cleaner. Be aware that loose clothing or hair maybecome trapped in the cleaner if improperly used.

• Before use, ensure that all of the air vents of the cleanerare clear and there is no restriction of air flow.

• Caution: Exhaust air discharged from the sides of thecleaner may extinguish a gas fire, pilot light, or disturbashes in an open fire. Always avoid directing the cleanertoward naked flames.

• Important: This cleaner has a thermal safety device whichautomatically cuts off the power supply in case of overheating. If the safety device has switched the cleaner off,unplug from the mains and allow the cleaner to cooldown. Once the cleaner has cooled it can be plugged backin to the mains and used as normal. This takesapproximately 15 minutes to reset.

Unpacking your vacuum cleaner

Before using your vacuum cleaner

Remove all packaging and lay out the separate components.

Check the unit after unpacking for any visual damage such as:

• Misaligned or damaged parts• Damage to the main body and separate components• Damage to the plug or cable.

If you can see any damage do not use the vacuum cleaner and contact customer services

1. Ensure the HEPA filter is correctly inserted in the Dust Tank.

2. Insert the Dust Tank into the Vacuum Cleaner Unit.

1. Plug the power cord into a wall socket.

2. Push down the power switch on the top of the machine to switch the cleaner on and off.

The Russell Hobbs UV Pro is designed for use on soft furnishings such at mattresses, sofas, rugs and upholstery. It’s purpose is to tackle the

allergens such as dust mites, bed bugs, bacteria and pollen - all things that may worsen the symptoms of asthma, eczema and other

irritations.The UV-C light attacks the DNA of bed bugs, dust mites and bacteria such as E-Coli, which prevents them from reproducing and spreading,

effectively sterilising your mattresses and soft furnishings

3. Ensure the two large wheels on the underside of the product are in contact with a flat surface, such as a mattress, then slowly move the vacuum cleaner back and forth over the surface.

Important: The UV light will only activate if both large wheels are in contact with the surface being vacuumed. This function is indicated by the LED lights on the front of the unit.

How to empty the dust container and clean the filter.

Pull out the HEPA filter and tap the dust container over a bin to empty.Important: You may wish to empty the dust container outdoors as emptying may create a dust cloud.

Ensure the unit is switched off.Make sure to empty the dust container before it gets full. Grasp the dust container and pull upwards.

Remove the sponge filter from the HEPA filters To clean, remove excess dust from the filter using a soft brush. Wash in warm water and allow to dry for 24 hours.

Once dry, replace the filters and the dust container into the vacuum cleaner unit.

How to change the UV bulb

To replace the UV bulb unscrew the bulb cover and pull the cover away.

With both of your thumbs placed on each end of the bulb rotate downwards to unlock it until you can see the pins. Slightly pull out the terminals to remove the bulb. To install the new bulb align the pins of the bulb to the holder at each end and slot the bulb into place. Using your thumbs at each end of the bulb rotate the bulb upwards this time to lock the bulb into the holder. Install the bulb cover and screw.

How to change the fuse

1. Slot the end of a screwdriver into the recess in the fuse holder of the plug.

2. Pull the fuse holder upwards until free of the plug and slide the fuse out.

3. Replace the fuse and replace fuse holder, pushing down until locked into place.

Important: Only ever use 13 amp fuses.

Problem Solutions

The vacuum cleaner is pluggedin but does not work

Check the power cord and plug are not damaged.Check and replace the fuse in the plug

The UV light is not working The UV light will only work when both wheels at the front of the product are in contact with a flat surface.

The suction is decreasing and the vacuum cleaner is not picking up dirt

Check if the dust container is full, if so, empty itClean the filters

Vacuum cleaner is overheating Check that the filters are not blocked. If so, clean them

The air coming out of the vacuum cleaner smells

Clean the filters and dustcontainerEnsure the filters have been left to dry for 24 hours before refitting back into the vacuum cleaner
