Well to start off, I am Conrad Pogorzelski. I am a native of Gastonia NC, and have lived

there my entire life. I am Christian first, before anything and that is the center of my life.

However, I am not what I feel some people would think of the stereotypical Christian who is

boring and never does anything exciting, or is quiet and only speaks up to condemn others. I

enjoy giving my life away to others and for that reason am a Young Life leader.

I thoroughly enjoy debating. I have hopes of law school and eventually being a senator. I

have been active in politics, and want to continue to grow in my knowledge, and to make many

more connections in the coming years. I have ambitions of becoming the sophomore class

president next year, but we will see what happens. In addition to this intellectual pursuit, I also

enjoy learning about pretty much everything. From science to history, I find information fun and

interesting. I am also a subscriber to the idea that knowledge is power, or at least can be power. I

Do not take things for granted, no matter what the source is, and want to know if it is reliable and

want things to be backed up. This apply to all areas of my life, especially in my Christian walk. I

verify things people say to what is in the Bible, and verify that the Bible is reliable with science

and logic. (I have to admit that some things are incredible but not unbelievable.) Because I have

found that my faith is built on something credible, I have no problem defending my faith, and

have become interested in apologetics.

I thoroughly enjoy stupid stuff. Spontaneously doing something with my friends whether

that’s randomly deciding to go skiing, or believing I can jump over something, making it and

feeling awesome, or busting my tail is something I hope happens daily, and most often times,

does.

Sports are awesome. I have played a lot of sports, football, soccer, I have done

swimming, played basketball, baseball, and finally found the amazing sport of wrestling. As a

guy, I have the innate desire to compete and especially when it comes to one on one competition,

show-casing physical dominance. Wrestling to me is awesome because it requires toughness,

physical prowess, and the ability to react to your opponent, and plan three steps ahead of him.

The good wrestlers know what their opponent will do and how to react, the great ones know

what they will do, but have four moves and counters to get their opponent to that point in the

match, and then knowing how to react, has a plan on how to adjust to the reaction their opponent

will have to counter the attack. In addition to me personally competing, I like to help others

improve, and get as much, if not more joy from seeing others reach their goals.

Here’s some random facts about me: I play guitar, I like playing Ping-Pong, I am a

Panthers fan, and my family are PSL owners. My name is on one of the panthers outside of the

stadium. I have been to Jamaica, China, the Bahamas, and Africa. I love sushi and work at an

Asian fusion restaurant. I love any type of music, from rap, to rock, to classical. Anything except

for country. I effing hate it.

Finally, when it comes to writing, I like it. It gives you the ability to express yourself, and

to get your ideas across effectively. Writing allows me to reflect, and to show a side of me that

people don’t see typically see, or to effectively bring about change.
