CANISTER1. Open the caNster hood.

2. Check to see that the dust bag is properlyInstalled- See BAG CHANGING for instructions

3 Check to see that the motor safety flfter isproperlyinstalled See MOTOR SAFETYFILTERCLEANING forinstructions.

HOODIt is normal for the canister hood to come off whenopened fudher than needed. Une up the hinges.insert them, and c_ose the hood to replace it.

For best deep down cleaning, use the XLO sefflng,However. you may need to raise the height to makesome jobs easier, such as scatter rugsend somedeep pile carpets, and to prevent the vacuumcteaner from shutting off. Suggested settings are:

TO CHECKBRUSH:

2. Remove brush supports, washers, screws, endbrush, brush sprocket pieces from ends of brushassembly

3. Push out wornbrushes. If thebeater bar ischipped orgouged.replace It

4. Slide newbeater bar andbrushes Intosfots

NOTE: Newbrushes andbeater bar maybe easier tofnstatl ff they aresoaked In warmwater for a fewminutes. D_thoroughlybefore installing

5. Reassemble brush assembly. To line up screw holesin dowel, sprocket and end brush, be sure beater barporlion of end brush lines up with beater bar onbrush dowel
