Using the Word Boards How to Display the Word Boards –

Print on Cardstock- The Word Boards can be printed on cardstock as is and displayed.

Laminate them if desired. This is ideal for small group work or a literacy center.

Print on Paper – This is an economical way to produce the Word Boards. The Word Boards

can then be put into a sheet protector to make them more durable. This is ideal for sending the Word Boards home as

a home study activity.

Enlarge - They can be printed and enlarged to a larger poster size. This is ideal for whole class games and activities.

Smart Board - They can be projected onto a smart board. This is ideal for a whole class activity or game.

Game Instructions Word Boards are a game for 2 players or 2 teams

Need: Word Board, Counters to cover the letters

Players take turns to cover the letters to make a word. A player must cover one circle from each set every turn.

Once a circle is covered it must stay covered. The winner is the last person to cover 2 circles to make a word.

Word Building Activity Using the Word Boards How Many Words Can You Make?

Need: Word Board, Paper to record words

Students use a Word Board to create as many different words as possible. Letters in the circles can be used more than

once. Challenge students to find as many words as possible.

A class competition could be held to see who finds the most words.

Word Builder Sheets Print one sheet for each student. Students record on the sheet writing as many words as possible.

Explain that correct spelling must be used.
