We base our document validation on a set of reliable checks, which are easy to understand, provide a high level of fraud detection and minimise the possibility of false alerts i.e. genuine documents being flagged as fraudulent. The table below shows the scanning checks that are made by each system:

Most documents are genuine and will be processed by the system in a matter of seconds, but occasionally checks may fail. Our document referral helpdesk is an essential part of our service. You can send the results of scans to our team using the ‘Send to TrustID’ button. We are then able to quickly and accurately analyse the results and provide you with a report evaluating whether the document is genuine or fraudulent. Often, a failure will be due to the document being damaged or worn but you may also see fraudulent documents so our helpdesk gives you peace of mind.
When an identity document is scanned using our desktop scanners, or captured and validated through our mobile or cloud solution, we provide a full PDF report which can then be stored against an applicant as proof of compliance and to support an external audit.

CAPTURE USING BUILT-IN CAMERA Line the document up with the on-screen codelines and capture an image to read and validate document information .
If your device has an NFC reader, it can read data from the biometric chip*, if there is one, to perform additional checks (*Android only).
CHECK RESULTS Scanned details appear on screen and the app confirms if the document has passed the validation checks. The results can be reviewed on screen and then emailed as a PDF.

The TrustID Mobile App has become a key part of my tenant referencing process. Using my phone, I can scan and validate a tenant's ID whilst I am out and about. It's very simple and fast to use. I can also include a photo of the tenant so I have bags of proof for the ‘Right to Rent’ requirement – that I’ve seen and captured the required documents and that I have met the person face to face. It's nice to be able to offer my landlords something different from the competition.
