Ball valves can be used for positive, frequent 'on' and 'off' service or for throttling. The handle can be quickly opened or closed (90°turn) and allows for easy identification from a distance of valve position. 'Full Port' ball valves permit full flow and are typically usedon hard piping systems (they have similar internal dimensions to hard pipe). 'Standard Port' ball valves can be used with piping but arealso suitable when used with hose as they do not restrict flow (they have the same internal dimensions of the corresponding hosesize).

3-Way Diverter Ball Valve

These 3-way diverter valves are designed to have the flowrun from the center port to either side (center port must be theinlet to work properly). Flow from the center to "both" sidescan be done but there will be flow reductions. As with other 2-way ball valves, the handle on the 3-way also operates in aconvenient quarter-turn fashion. Cast Iron Butterfly Valves

These are economical grade cast iron valves available in both lug and waferstyle bodies with either a EPDM or Buna-N material seat and are availablewith either a 10 position lever handle or worm gear operator.

Working Pressure: 150 psi

A butterfly valve is from a family of valves called quarter-turn valves. The "butterfly" is a metal disc mounted on a rod. When the valveis closed, the disc is turned so that it completely blocks off the passageway. When the valve is fully open, the disc is rotated a quarterturn so that it allows an almost unrestricted passage of the fluid. Butterfly valves incorporate a notch plate which allows you to positionthe disc incrementally in order to throttle the flow (usually about 10 positions).

Butterfly valves are available with a variety of end configurations, actuator styles, disc materials & resilient seat elastomers, all ofwhich are determined by the specific application they're being used in. Butterfly valves can be found across many industries includingindustrial processing, water and waste water, dry bulk conveying, paper mills, light slurry handling, food and beverage, HVAC,transportation and more! For quick reference we've listed some of our more common styles & materials below.

Wafer & Lug-style butterfly valves are designed to be used with ANSI Class 125/150 flanges pipe flanges. Wafer style fits betweenthe flanges and are held in place by the force of the mating flanges, while Lug style are bolted directly to the mating flanges from eachside (or from one side if it’s a dead-end application where the valve is the terminus of the line). Grooved end & Tri-clamp butterflyvalves are also readily available and are designed for use in systems using those end configurations.

Watts 007 Double CheckBackflow Preventer w/ Valves

These prevent backwash into potable wa-ter systems or are used for containmentand cross connection control (for non-heath hazard applications). The 3/4" - 2"are portable units (max 175 psi) that arefurnished with ball type test cocks and quar-ter turn, full port bronze ball valves.
