This month, beginning June 15th, our Host/Hostess staff at WatkinsManor will experience a change. They will be joining the Food andNutrition department at Watkins Manor. While their position will stillwork to serve and meet the needs of our residents at meals, theirnew position will help support additional areas of food service. Wefeel this is a good fit for this position and that this change will bestutilize staff in both areas. There will also be a cost savings by com-bining the roles of these two areas. We feel this change will nothave any negative impact on our service to the residents, but an-ticipate some kinks as we work through the transition.

This change is an example of ways we are working to keep ourcost to our residents down without impacting the quality of care weprovide. We have not experienced a rate increase in at AMM/RMMsince October 2007 or at Watkins since January of 2008. Our goalis to always be working to make sure that our residents do not ex-perience rate increases without first looking at our areas of spend-ing. We are thankful, as all staff has been instrumental in workingto identify ways to be cost effective. From turning off unnecessarylighting, to effective menu planning, to taking low census hours, towatching the use of supplies, they certainly have shown their com-mitment. We welcome all suggestions and ideas from you as well.

We are proud of the service we provide in our assisted living com-munities and always working on ways to best serve our residents.Thank you for choosing us. It is our pleasure to serve you.
