All trials listed below were transplanted under dry soil conditions and plant stand and vigor were affected. Some black shank pressure was evident at the Coldstream Farm

Black Shank appeared to be predominately race 0 early in the season at the Clinton Co. site due to the response of varieties with high race 0 resistance However that changed as thehigh race 0 resistance. However, that changed as the season progressed and only those varieties with sufficient race 1 resistance were able to handle the pressure.

Although conditions were harsh tobacco handledAlthough conditions were harsh, tobacco handled the conditions well producing high yields in all but the most severe cases.
