Fluoride release and radiopacity

Variolink II contains two special fluoride-containing fillers, which help to protect therestoration margins against demineralization.The unmatched high radiopacity of 450% Alis another advantage of Variolink II. It enablesexcess material and secondary caries to beidentified on X-rays.

The push syringe

The Variolink II universal shade is alsoavailable in the new push syringe. The newsyringe makes handling easier and thereforesaves time.The base and catalyst are dispensedsimultaneously, therefore, simplifyingclinical cases in which the dual-curingmechanism of Variolink II is applied.

Harmonious shade range

Variolink II is available in six different shadesand three degrees of translucency – a largespectrum of materials for achieving highlyesthetic cementation results.

The three degrees of translucency do notinterfere with the shade of the restoration orthat of the tooth. The natural tooth shade,therefore, is shown at its best. If desired,however, different shades can be used toachieve special effects: for example, severelystained teeth can be masked with the whiteopaque shade. The wide range of materialsallows the individualized requirements ofrestorations to be fulfilled.

• The Bleach shade of the Variolink IIassortment produces outstanding results inconjunction with very white or bleachedteeth as well as in situations involving bothwhitened and restored teeth (teethrestored with veneers, crowns, etc).

• The catalyst shade called “transparent”offers additional esthetic benefits andenhances the basic shades.

The six water-soluble Try-In pastes shadedaccording to the six Variolink II shades helpsimulate the shade of permanently placedrestorations prior to their cementation.

Variolink II materials are available in threedifferent consistencies: low, high and ultrahigh viscosity for the ultrasonic-based lutingtechnique.

Variolink II andExciTE® F DSC

The dual-curingone-component adhesive

The ExciTE F DSC adhesive is a version ofthe proven ExciTE system. The dual-curingone-component adhesive is applied quicklyand easily.

ExciTE F DSC is offered in single-dose vesselswith the corresponding premountedapplicator brush. The brush is coated withthe initiators required for the dual-curingreaction. Once the single-dose vessels areactivated, the initiators mix with theadhesive solution.

Consequently, ExciTE F DSC is easy to applyin one coat. Light-curing is unnecessary.The fit of the restoration is not impaired.Variolink II is used for the adhesivecementation of the restorations.

Variolink II andSyntac® Classic

The provenmulti-component adhesive

Variolink II is also available together with theSyntac Classic adhesive. The bond to theenamel and dentin is achieved by thesuccessive applications of a primer, adhesiveand bonding agent.

This system has been successfully used formany years and extensive clinical experiencehas been gained with it. The success of thesystem is underlined by the fact that morethan 30 million restorations have beenplaced to the satisfaction of patients aroundthe world.

IPS e.max®

This innovative all-ceramic system allowsthe appropriate restorative material to beselected based on the demands of eachindividual patient case. The range ofIPS e.max materials comprises highlyesthetic glass-ceramics for e.g. anterior orsingle-tooth restorations and high-strengthzirconium-oxide ceramics for stress-bearingposterior bridges. One single layeringceramic rounds off the system and ensurespredictable shade results and life-likeesthetics.

FRC Postec Plus is a glass fibre reinforcedroot post. Its excellent physical propertiesand its shade allow severely damaged teethto be restored according to highly estheticprinciples. Variolink II is ideal for cementingposts as well as for bondingdirect composite core build-upswith the ceramic or composite-based restoration.

IPS Empress®

In more than 15 years of clinical use,Variolink II has been proven to be the idealmaterial for cementing the highly esthetic IPSEmpress glass-ceramic restorations.
