Abrasion TestingCatheter guide wires slide back and forth over drapes during each procedure, causing fabric abrasion. The lower the amount of fabric abrasion, the lesser the chance of lint getting into the wound, where it could contribute to cross contamination.

Abrasion testing was performed on Medline HDA fabric as well as the competitor fabric. On average, the Medline HDA went through 7,167 abrasion cycles before failure, and the competitor went through only 667 abrasion cycles.

Conclusion: Medline HDA is 10 times more abrasion resistant than the competitor.*
