family as a result community has started showing great interest and commitment towards the college.
Problems encountered and resources required
There are a few problems encountered in proper implementation of this practice they can be summarized as follows.
1. Sometimes teachers forget to keep record of the students’ activities in details by
mistake. This has led to negligence towards some students and hence threatened the reliability of such records.
2. It is a very challenging task to maintain the record of all the students in detail and
monitoring them in proper track. 3. It has been a challenge to convince all the students to participate in and offend all the
activities.
4. The practice does not require more resources beside mobile bill to contact them and a diary consists of the list.

Best Practice -2
Title: To reach the unreached for the communal need.
Objectives of the practice:
1. To bring underprivileged class of the society in the process of education. 2. To empower the unreached through higher education and self reliance.
3. To strengthen the student, teacher and society relationship.
4. To cater the diverse needs of community. 5. To counsel and motivate the lesser privileged and socially deprived
students.
The context:
It is really a challenging task to reach the students from various socioeconomic and other
backgrounds. The college is situated in the extended and remote area, the college planned
to attract students from too underdeveloped villages and surrounding area of Twin Solapur. Most of the villages and surrounding community is far from higher education because of
distance. This outreach area is equally dotted scheduled castes and nomadic tribes and
other general communities. Keeping in view this social reality the collage has taken some proactive measures and planned to emplacement equitable representation of students from
vulnerable background and bring them in the flow of higher education to empower them.
The practice:
Vasundhara Kala Mahavidyalaya plans to widen access to higher education by taking
rigorous efforts and offering the equitable opportunity of higher education to wide range of
communities from heterogeneous community having different, socio, economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. We are trying our best to reach the unreached community to
empower it with higher education. As a part of this task some of the following activities
are worth mentioning.
1. Visiting the surrounding community and involving them in college activities. Visiting
far flung rural areas in order to make them aware about higher education and need of sending their wards to the college for higher education.
2. By strictly following the reservation policies of government of Maharashtra.
3. By offering free ships for the college students belong to economically weak background. 4. College uniform makes students of diverse community to feel at ease in the college and
to forget any sort of differences which helps to create communal harmony.
5. As part of its mission of empowering under privileged, the college has organizes various programs providing counselling for students and by giving training in various life skills.
The college has started short term courses to give vocational training. 6.The college is dedicated to improve the lives of young students the range of service
promotes personal growth and career guidance for economic independence.
7. The college offers counselling on number of issues like health, hygiene, gender equality job opportunities etc.
Evidence of success:
As we are running vocational courses for the students of surrounding community and neighbouring villages, numbers of students have successfully completed these courses and
subsequently hunted the job opportunities of government and private agencies. As a result
of it the community is attracted. There is healthy relationship between college student and society. Because of our devotion and deliberate efforts, most of the students of
underprivileged section in society prefer to take admission in our college, especially
SC,ST,NT,OBC, minority and other deprived classes. The large number of girl students feels secure to take admission in our college. The results of the continuous efforts have
encouraged the unreached society to think about their position in society and find
pragmatic solutions to the challenges they face in their daily lives. 1. They have developed awareness about higher education which helped to emerge from
the state of mental isolation.
2. It has given them confidence and self esteem. 3. It has empowered them economically and given the power to speak and
express them in decision making.
4. It has changed their attitude and they are ready to face the challenges.
Problems encountered and resources required
1. The main problem is to bring the people out from their particular mind set and make
them aware and confident about higher education.
2. The difficulty arises when the ward is female. Through counselling the parents get convinced to continue their daughter’s education.
3. The only resource required for this is human resources with a strong will to support the
society. It requires professionals for counselling.
