The Wag & Whiskers Gala is an annual event celebrating the mission and the animals of the Virginia Beach SPCA. This year’s theme is Southern Charm and fittingly, the event takes place at the historic and elegant Cavalier Hotel. Friends and family of the VBSPCA will gather to toast the animals and help to raise the much needed funds to support our work of connecting animals and humans throughout Hampton Roads. What began in 1989 as a local celebrity and pet fashion show, the Wags & Whiskers Gala has evolved to become one of our most impactful fundraising events and a true celebration for the animals. Each year, the Gala brings in nearly $200,000 in critical funding, which directly supports our mission of eliminating animal su�ering while increasing human compassion. This mission is achieved through animal sheltering and enrichment, veterinary care, spay and neuter initiatives, behavior training, wildlife triage, and humane education programs.

5,885 Public Clinic VisitsThe VBSPCA Medical Clinic o�ers low cost veterinary services and walk-in vaccine clinics tohouseholds with an annual income of $65,000 or less. We work to make responsible pet ownershippossible for all deserving individuals.

4,924 Spay/Neuter SurgeriesIn order to help reduce pet overpopulation, the Virginia Beach SPCAClinic provides a�ordable spay/neuter services, regardless of income,to the community.

3,231 Neuter Scooter PatientsOur mobile veterinary clinic travels to target neighborhoods to o�erconvenient, low-cost spay, neuter, vaccinations and preventivemedications.

8,272 Children Reached Through Humane EducationThe Humane Education department impacts children through ouryear round programs, including school visits, summer camps,one-day workshops, and our award winning Listening Earsreading assistance program.

1,638 Wildlife Received and TriagedWe partner with Bay Beach Veterinary Hospital and a widenetwork of licensed rehabilitators to receive and stabilizeinjured wildlife with the goal of release back into theirnatural habitat.

161 Dogs Trained Through The VBSPCA Pet AcademyThe VBSPCA Pet Academy o�ers the opportunity to improvethe lives of pets in our community while also supporting theenrichment of the animals of the VBSPCA.
