Two emission test chambers withstandard test space sizes of 200and 1000 litres are available. Anideal practically oriented solution.

Special sizes on request.

Requirements/fulfilment

Environmental test equipment to characterize ...

Materials can be affected by envi-ronmental influences. However, under these influences, the mate-rials can be harmful to the environ-ment also, e.g. by emissions fromthe materials into the air.

These emissions are particularlyrelevant in closed rooms. They canaffect other available materials andof course also human beings.

The relevant factors and their effecton the emission behaviour of mate-rials in connection with suitablemeasuring methods can be usedto evaluate emission together withthe Vötsch chamber.

Analytical investigations, systemcalibration and olfactometric stu-dies are possible with suitablemeasuring equipment.

Volatile organic compounds (VOC)from indoor materials and productsare determined under practicalconditions.

Scientific measurement and pro-duct testing aimed to limit organicemissions indoors, for the purposeof improved consumer protection, can be evaluated.

Exposure to indoor air pollutioncaused by volatile organic com-pounds (VOC) must be furtherreduced resp. indoor air qualityimproved - for several reasons:

l An increased use of polymerhydrocarbon compounds inindoor materials and productsresults in a growing numberof emitting sources

l Energy saving insulation reducesthe ventilation rates in buildingswhich leads to an accumulationof pollutants indoors

l Reduction of the environmentalpollution of technical devices(greenhouse effect, ozone layerdepletion)

The technical requirements of theenvironmental test equipmentwere defined by specialists fromindustry and science and thensuccessfully put into practice:

l A test equipment with a low emission (purity in molecularrange)

l Excluding contaminations fromthe vicinity

l Particle measurementl Minimizing adsorption effectsl High desorption temperatures

( > 200 °C)

l High parameter accuracyl Ventilationl Tests with and without air

possible

l Modern people spend about90 % of their time indoors

l Increased sensibility of the hu-man organism to the influenceof minute concentrations

Comfortable, user-friendly operation ...

Computer Integrated ControlOur test chambers are equippedwith an integrated industrial com-puter system with a 8" colourtouchpanel to facilitate operation, monitoring and documentation.

Control is governed by the 32 BitI/O system with integrated softPLC. A web server can place testand diagnosis information in theintranet via Ethernet if desired.

Online-ServiceThe units have an online servicefunction, enabling our specialists toestablish an online data link to theunit via internet or mobile telepho-ne. The online link provides ourexperts with all the data they re-quire.

Remote control and monitoringSafe operation of the overall sys-tem requires the test cabinet to bereliably integrated. Enables, warn-ing messages and fault signals aredefined in a safety matrix with thecustomer and the safety officers.

Units can be reached and control-led from practically anywhere in theworld by simply accessing the unitwebserver in the intranet via thenetwork or enabling in the internet.
