It’s called a thorny devil .It has got scaly spines that cover its body. It has got two important spines on its head. Its skin colour is a mix of yellow, red and brown that depends on the colour of the ground. They usually are 20 metres long .Thanks too its length and its colours it is well camouflage; it can protect its head and trick a predator by hiding its head between its front legs, leaving its false head showing. This makes them difficult for most predators to swallow. Thorny devils will also inflate themselves with air, puffing up like little puffer fish to make themselves look bigger. Their structure allows them to collect water

from any part of its body, which is channelled down to its mouth. It isn’t a dangerous animal, except for ants because that is what it eats, it catches bugs with its tongue, it can catch over 30 bugs per minute. They live in Australian deserts. They usually lay a single clutch of eggs per year. Clutch size in thorny devils is from three to ten eggs but usually clutches have eight eggs.

Pets

They have to run, hunt, eat or play. However we have to try to humanize their nature, but they do not live as pets. There are people who like to have serpents, chameleons, iguanas …

As for the domestic animals, still there are many parents who yield before the insistence of their children of having a pet. Dogs, cats, tortoises, birds, and

other animals, are not objects, despite people forget . People who have an animal have a responsibility, they must care them, feed them, give them a house, sanitary assistance and a good treatment during all their life…

Thorny Devil (MOLOCH HORRIDUS)

There are many people who at some time in their lives have considered to have a pet, some of them think about domestic animals and other wild animals .But it is not always a good decision. We must understand that wild animals are precisely that, wild animals. It is not that they are bad species but their nature is different.

Travelling between distant places was difficult in the earlier t i m e s . I t w a s uncomfortable and time consuming but it was the only way to get from one place to another. Foreign travel has now become easier and quicker than it was in the past, evolving from walking to travelling by ship or plane.

In the early 19th century travelling to a foreign destination was a long and expensive journey. Since the i n t r o d u c t i o n o f international airlines

travels became easier but more expensive. Some people may not afford this but it is a well-justified price to pay for.

Travel l ing is an excellent way to open our minds; learning a b o u t c u l t u r e s , economy, histories... Travel has allowed us to stand face to face w i t h t he g r ea t pyramids, or the coliseum in Rome, for example.

Most people travel to relax and have a good time experiencing a different atmosphere,

other travel for business or just because they want to explore the world.

In conclusion, foreign travel has given people knowledge about the world and the chance to discover it.

Hi, my name is Clara and two years ago I went to London to visit the city. This trip is the best I´ve ever done, because in London I´ve found a lot of incredible things: museums like the British Museum, Natural Museum, Science Museum…, monuments like the London´s eye (it´s the biggest treadmill I´ve ever seen), the Tower Bridge or the Parliament (with the Big Ben). And a lot of places like Trafalgar Square, Picadilly Circus or Candem.

The Hunger Games

One of the most successful films of the year ARGUMENT A history of war has left the 12 districts that divide Panem under the tyrannical power of the "Capitol". Without liberty and poverty, no one can leave the confines of his district. Only a 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, tries to challenge the rules for food. Her principles will be tested with "The Hunger Games", televised show that organizes the Capitol to humiliate the population. Each year, two representatives from each district will be forced to survive in a hostile environment and fight to the death between them until a single survivor.

When her younger sister is chosen to participate, Katniss does not hesitate to take its place, determined to demonstrate its firm and resolute, even in the most desperate situations there is room for love and respect. The film is adapted from the novel by Suzanne Collins. This movie was released on March 23 in the United States and in Spain on April 22, with a success on the big screen.

could enjoy the spectacular views of Tarragona´s seaside. It was half past eight in the evening and we were told to came back to the bus. The journey took us a very short time to get to the hotel Tarraco Park. It was much better than the hotel we stayed before and the rooms were so comfortable. We arrived there exhausted and starving but hopefully the din-ner was ready for us. There wasn´t a disco but one of our mates played some good music on his computer and we danced until midnight but then we stayed all together in a room talking and playing cards. The next day we took the bus again and went to Port Aventura. We were

waiting for the tickets too much time but finally we entered. It was a pity that most of the roller coasters were closed. There were long queues everywhere. At seven o´clock in the evening the theme park closed. That was the last stop in our school trip. We had dinner in a buffet in the middle of the journey and came back to Cartagena. It has been a very spe-cial trip for us because it´s the first one we do with our mates. We have spent a very good time and we hope it to be repeat. After a long journey by bus we were looking forward to arrive to Tarragona because most of us hadn´t visited that city and we had heard that it was very famous in our country and so beautiful too. The first thing we did when we arrived there was walking around the city and we saw the strike, and that was the reason why all shops were closed until eight o´clock in the evening. When the shops opened we did a quick shopping to buy the last gifts to our relatives. While we were walking down the streets we met some Catalans who helped us to take photos with all monuments and they were kinder than we expected. At the end of our walk we

I only have to say one thing: you don't know how good it is until you try it for yourself. After all that good time, we had to go. 4th ESO students´s school trip started on 26th until the 31st of April. We visited several cities in the north of the peninsula, from Andorra to Catalonia. Our first visit was to La Molina, in Gerona, a place full of beauty and nature everywhere. We could see the white summits of the mountains. It was beautiful. Our short visit to Andorra was full of shopping, jacuzzis and nice food. One of the most beautiful cities I've visited, the landscape was just astonishing, and so it was the amount of tech stores. You literally couldn't walk more than 20 metres without encountering one, and that was awesome. Prices were much lower compared to Spain, but I didn't have any money so I spent two hours entering random shops. One of them had Muse playing in the background so it was impossible for me not to enter. After all the shopping we walked to a restaurant where we could choose many different kinds of food.

The first film which was recorded in color was ‘’Becky Sharp’’ in 1935, directed by Rouben Mamoulian. This film is based on the novel by William Thackeray called ‘’Vanity Fair’’. “Becky Sharp’’ was the first film made with ‘’Technicolor’’ and three colors: red, blue and green. These colors together get a natural picture.

This film is about a girl who belongs to a poor family and achieves to accede to the high class of the British society but this fact would not have a happy ending.

Titanic

Titanic is an American disaster film directed, written, produced, and edited by James Cameron. It is about the sinking of the Titanic. The most important stars of the films are Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. They represent two members of different social classes, Jack and Rose, who fall in love aboard the ship during the voyage. The sinking of the ship happens at the same time that we can see the love story of both characters. However, although the Titanic and its tragedy were real, and there are some rumors that say that the love story be-tween Jack and Rose was based on a true story, the truth is that Jack and Rose are simply fictional characters. They are an excuse to tell us the story and to add more drama.

Nowadays, sadly, it is common to hear about artists who didn’t manage to put up with the fame they got singing, for example, and whose life ended in a not very natural or usual way. Some recent examples could be: Amy Winehouse

She died last year when she was only 27. The report released on 26 October 2011

explained that Winehouse's blood alcohol content was 416 mg per decilitre at the time of her death, more than five times the legal drink-drive limit. According to the police, "The unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was her sudden death." She had one of the most personal and outstanding voices that the world has ever heard so she will always be remembered for successful records.

Michael Jackson

The

king of pop died in 2009 and, as all his life was, his death was also very controversial because finally, authorities have decided to charge his doctor Conrad Murray with involuntary manslaughter because at the time of death, Jackson had been adminis-tered propofol, lorazepam and midazolam.

Everything has already been said about him; his voice, his movements and his style have been copied all around the world but nobody will ever be able to be like him because he was just unique and inimitable.

Other very famous artists who also died very young but some more years ago could be: Kurt Cobain Nirvana’s singer body was

found next to a gun in 1994 when he was 27 but the mystery was never solved. Nirvana become famous as the 90’s grunge band and it’s still remembered by thousands of fans. Kurt Cobain was considered “the spokesman of a generation” and lots of teenagers started supporting the band after listening to “Smells like Teen Spirit”, which was Nirvana’s biggest hit.

There are few things better than 3D street art. Artists use streets for showing their art, their talent, not for earning money. They just want people to see what they can do with some paints. 3d street art is gaining much popularity these days. Notable brands are already taking

Dancing, passion and movements

Dancing is passion and movements, a perfect form to express with our bodies everything that we cannot say with words. It is just a simple way to tell everybody our feelings or all of those thoughts that we are not able to communicate. Dancing is like dreaming with your feet, it is letting the voice of our souls come outside. You do not have to worry about your technique or how to make the perfect movement, you only have to be careful about how does the music make you feel and make it known to the rest of the people, that is all you need. MUSIC OLD MUSIC / MODERN MUSIC

Generally the difference between older and modern songs of any type, are the content. Generally older songs tell a story about a particular situation. Modern songs often describe an activity rather than telling a story. Look at the Beatles for one example. Hey Jude, She Loves You, Woman, etc these are all songs that tell a story about a specific person in a specific situation. The trick is that the story situation has to be easy to relate to most people. If you look at modern groups, say Girl's Aloud, the songs are not story specific, Can't speak French, Biology, etc are about activities or are general feelings that are song to "all" girls about "all" boys, etc. There are exceptions. Singers like James Blunt are old fashioned singers because most of their songs are story telling songs. In addi-tion, many country and western songs are "old fashioned" because they are story telling songs. We are going to tell you the differences between old and modern music, two examples are the Beatles and Justin Bieber.

THE BEATLES The Beatles was an English active band of rock during the decade of 1960, and recognized like more commercial successful and critically acclaimed in the history of the popular music. Formed in Liverpool, was constituted from 1962 by John Lennon (rhythmic guitar, pianist vocalist), Paul McCartney (down, vocalist, pianist), George Harrison (guitar soloist, vocal-ist) and Ringo Starr (drums, tambourine, vocalist). Taken root in the skiffle and the rock and roll of the fifties, the band worked later with different musical kinds, which were go-ing from the ballad pop up to the psychodelic rock, incorporating often classic elements, between others, of in-novative form in his songs. The nature of his enormous popularity, which had emerged firstly with the mode of the 'Beatlemanía', transformed at the time that their compositions became more sophisticated. They managed to be perceived as the incarnation of the ideal progressives, extend-ing his influence in the social and cultural revolutions of the

decade of 1960. With an initial formation of five components that was including Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, (low) Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best (drums), they constructed his reputation in the clubs of Liverpool and Ham-burg in a period of two years and a half from 1960. Sutcliffe left the formation in 1961, and Best was replaced by Starr on the following year. Established as professional group after Brian Epstein was offering them to be his representative, and with his musical potential improved by the creativity of the producer George Martin, they achieved commercial success in the United Kingdom at the end of 1962 with his first simple one, 'Love Me Do'. From there, they were acquiring international popularity throughout the following years, in which they did an extensive number of tours until 1966, year in which they stopped the live activity to devote itself only to the recording in the study up to his dissolution in 1970. Later, all his members embarked in successful independent careers. Lennon would be murdered in the suburbs of his house of New York in 1980, and Harrison would die of

We have played it, and is a very good game. Zael is a mercenary, a knight that receives money to fight against threats. He wants to be a kingdom knight, but he is happy to be a mercenary. He lives in Lázulis, an island in the middle of the sea and he lives happily, but, when he finds Calista, the Count Arganan’s niece, the emperor of Lázulis, he falls in love and he learns to live the life in other way, without caring what people think about mercenaries. While, his

world is being destroying by a strange force and Zael will have to save it. In the game he will have to overcome missions for the count Arganan, to win prestige, and gets Calista. You expand your equipment and weapons, and fight against monsters and final bosses. Triathlon is a sport with three parts, these three parts are: Swimming: the practise of your best style, it is very important. You should have everything controlled or you could drown. Cycling: although it is the easiest, it is a very important part. It is the longest and you should be fast. Running: you must train very hard to control the running because is the hardest. You much train as much as possible. There are four kinds of triathlon: Spring: this is the shortest, here you have to swim 750m, ride 20km and run 5km. Olympic: in this one you have to swim1’5km, ride 40km and run 10km. Half Iron Man: in this distance you swim 2km, ride 90km and run 20km.

Iron Man: is the longest distance and it is one of the hardest races of the world, you swim 3.9km, ride 180km and run 40km. So many people think that a triathlet is half swimmer, half rider and half athlete. But in fact swimming and running now have very good marks and many more triathletes could compete in only one sport getting so nice ratings and being in the top ten. At the end, people do not train the bike enough, so they are a little bit slower than the professional riders. If you aren’t professional or you don’t have so much money to waste in material you don’t need to buy very expensive things because the most important thing is your training and your Constancy. In my opinion it’s a very hard sport. One

example is that when you end the cycling part and you start running your legs are very tired and you cannot run as fast as a normal race. Also it’s a hard sport because in short distances you have to go very fast but, in longer distances you spend so many hours. Also isn’t enough with a normal training and you must be used to ride or run with tired legs. In short we can say that is a hard sport but very funny to practise which will make you try a lot of different sports and you’ll met a lot of different people. By Alberto Barbero Albaladejo 3rd. In the last century, many inventions have changed our lives. We probably cannot imagine a world without planes or televisions. However, the most revolutionary one has been computers. For many years, people needed to use letters to communicate with a friend or a relative from different parts of the world., but it took too long for letters to arrive. Nowadays, there are many different ways to talk with people from other countries without using this kind of correspondance. Other advantage is the amount of information that you can find just by clicking. These days you can buy a laptop which you can carry everywhere, so you

don't have to be in front of a computer to be connected to the world. Most of the people who works in banks or big companies needn't to move to a physical place to do their job as they can do it in their houses just with a computer. I believe that in the future the dependence on computers will increase and unfortunately most of us will be controlled by that simple machine. By María del Mar Victoria 1st. B HSE
