R29836 HUGE YARD SALE FOR NEWBORNS IN NEED LOTS OF EVERYTHING MULTIPLE FAMILIES Sat., Sept. 15 • 7 a.m. AT MERCHANTS OUTLET PARKING LOT R29837 Burglary - Lt. Richard Sawyers investigated a burglary at Greater Enon Baptist Church on Walnut Avenue on August 29. Bernice Fos- ter told the officer she arrived at the church about noon and found the rear door standing open. The steel door had been forced open, causing damage to the door lock. Foster entered the building and found that several offices and rooms had been ransacked, of- fice doors had been forced open, causing damage to the door and door frames. A storage cabinet in a utility room had also been forced open, causing damage to the cabinet doors. The only items missing were several keys taken from the utility room. Mr. Foster stated the church does not leave money on the premises overnight. This burglary was very similar to three other burglaries that re- cently occurred in the area, noted Lt. Sawyers. Shoplifting - Lisa Beam, 31, of Parks Well Road, Gleason was charged as noted by Patrolman Chad A. Davis on September 2. The manager of the Dollar Store called on that date concerning a shoplifter in the store. Upon ar- rival of the officer, the manager advised Beam concealed a hair color product in her purse, after taking the item out of its box. She reportedly placed the product box on a shelf in the rear of the store. She was cited into City Court, where she paid the citation, ac- cording to the report. Phone Harassment - Britteny Belk, 43, Florida Court, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Patrol- man Trey Boucher on September 2. Holly Mullins of McKenzie stated that Ms. Belk had called her 22 times between 1:52 a.m. and 3:11 a.m. on September 2. Ms. Mullins stated that Officer Winberry had contacted M. Belk and advised her not to contact Ms. Mullins again. A record was found from May 8, 2012 where Officer Winberry had advised Ms. Belk she would be arrested if she contacted Ms. Mullins again by phone. Ms. Belk was then charged. Assault, Domestic Related - Jeremy Shane Arnold, 40, of South Morris Street, McKenzie and Christopher W. Arnold, 35, of Kencindot Street, McKenzie, were each charged as noted by Patrol- man Trey Boucher on August 31. On that date, Christopher Arnold stated that his brother, Jeremy Ar- nold assaulted him for no reason at this mother’s house, located on Linden Heights. Christopher stat- ed that he and his brother had got- ten into an argument and that Jer- emy hit him several times while they were outside in the driveway and Jeremy followed him in the house where they continued to fight. Following the fight, Jeremy left the residence and Christopher called the police. Christopher reportedly had visible injuries to his right ear and right side of his neck, and later reported he had a fractured rib. Jeremy Arnold was contacted by phone and went to the police department as directed. He submitted a statement saying that Christopher hit him first and he was just defending himself. He had a scratch on the right side of his nose. A witness, who was in Jeremy’s car at the time of the as- sault also stated that Christopher hit Jeremy first. Due to the con- flicting statements, both parties were charged. Shoplifting - Regina Carol Bryant, 41, of Elm Street, McK- enzie, and Rachel Nicole Page, 28, Forrest Avenue, McKenzie, were charged as noted by Sgt. Gary Walker on August 31. On that date, Greenfield Police Depart- ment informed MPD they had arrested Ms. Bryant for possible shoplifting. The Greenfield officer advised that she had a tub full of merchandise that may have come from Fred’s in McKenzie. Ms. Bry- ant was transported to McKenzie Police Department, along with another subject, Rachel Page, for questioning. Ms. Bryant allegedly gave a written statement that she took a DVD player, several Febreze plug-ins, and two packs of lighters from the store. There were many more items in the tote that were new from Fred’s also. She said that she had receipts for the items at home, but could not produce them. She finally admitted to tak- ing several more of the items from Fred’s over a period of several days, according to the report. She was arrested for theft under $500 and transported to Carroll County Jail. Rachel Page admitted tak- ing four or five of the items from Fred’s and was also charged with shoplifting. She posted a $149.00 appearance bond. Leaving the Scene of Acci- dent, Driving on Suspended #1 - Alecia K. Morgan, 34, of Walnut Circle, McKenzie, was charged as noted by Sgt. Nicholas Lowe on August 29. On that date, MPD received a call to Walnut Circle in reference to damage to a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with Tracy Allen, who advised that she had let Ms. Morgan drive her vehicle to the store earlier that day. When Ms. Allen went outside at 7:45 p.m., she noticed damage to the passenger side of her vehicle. She confronted Ms. Morgan about it and thought they had the situa- tion resolved. But then Ms. Mor- gan advised she wasn’t going to pay for the damages, according to the report. Ms. Morgan reportedly told the officer that she drove the vehicle to Maverick and put gas in the vehicle. She advised the dam- age was not on the vehicle when she left Walnut Circle, but when she returned there was damage. She advised she did not know that she hit anything. A check of Ms. Morgan’s license revealed it to be suspended for failure to satisfy a citation on September 6, 2002 in Carroll County. She was cited into General Sessions Court for driv- ing on suspended #1 and leaving the scene of an accident. All Other Offenses - On Au- gust 30, Patrolman Jeff Winberry was dispatched to Richardson Avenue in connection to the report of a dog bite. The victim, Missy C. Hopper, had several places on her arm and legs, where the dog allegedly bit her, and several scratches on her chest, where the dog scratched her. She went to the hospital emergency room, where medical personnel advised to find out if the dog was up to date on shots. If not she needed to go to Jackson for a rabies shot, accord- ing to the report. The victim stated she didn’t want charges filed. However because of her injuries, the dog’s owner, Mr. Campbell, was cited into city court for having a dog running at large. The report did not indicate if the dog had been vaccinated. All Other Offenses - George Coleman, Jr. 26, Paris Pike, McK- enzie, was charged following a traffic stop for speeding by Patrolman Christopher Adams on August 31. A computer check revealed Coleman’s driver’s li- cense is suspended for failure to pay child support. He also did not have current proof of insurance.
