Insulating glazing unitAll VELUX roof windows are supplied withinsulation panes in many variants.

VELUX roof windows

Frame and sashVELUX roof windows are made of Nordic pinetreated with a water based preservative. Theframe and sash are supplied with a finishedclear lacquer treatment, TOPfinishTM. GIU/GGU/GPU EVERfinish® roof windows aremade from moulded polyurethane with timbercore and white polyurethane varnish finish.

Ventilation flapThe control bar with ventilation flap ispositioned at the head of the sash.

The ventilation flap makes it possible toget fresh air in the room without opening thewindow. An air filter keeps out dust, insects, etc. when the ventilation flap is open.

Blind bracketsVELUX roof windows are supplied withbrackets, ensuring an easy and simpleinstallation of VELUX interior decoration andsunscreening products.

Barrel boltVELUX roof windows can be fully rotatedand securely locked with the barrel bolt foreasy cleaning of the exterior pane.

In addition, the centre-pivot roof windowscan be secured in open position.

Quality controlRoof windows are particularly exposed to changing weatherconditions, and VELUX roof windows are therefore designed to beable to resist such conditions. In addition, all functions have beentested so that the window can withstand the varying degrees ofexposure.

Exterior claddingAs standard the window is supplied with maintenance-free exterior cladding of greyaluminium. The grey colour has colour codeNCS S-7500-N, making it easy to fit in with different colours and types of roofingmaterials. The colour has also been selectedto obtain harmony, even under very differentlight conditions, between the grey claddingand the window glass. One of the reasonswhy NCS (Natural Color System) has beenselected is that the colours in this system do not contain environmentally damagingpigments.

Data plateThe data plate with product code is used as documentation for production and subsequent service. In addition, the data plate isused for ordering VELUX decoration and sunscreening products.

VELUX roof windows are designed to createa unique environment within the attic.
