Stubborn pockets of fat and the appearance of cellulite have long been the bane of many a woman, but a new technology is promising a non-invasive solution to

improving these pesky body gripes. Even those with slim or fit physiques can become

frustrated by localised bulges (for instance, on the middle back, thighs, belly and buttocks) or ‘cottage cheese’ dimples that are seemingly resistant to diet and exercise.

Venus Freeze is a recently developed fat and cellulite reduction treatment. It is best suited for people in otherwise reasonable shape but who cannot shift localised bulges or improve the appearance of their cellulite with changes to their lifestyle alone.

Based on the innovative (MP)² technology, Venus Freeze combines multi-polar radio frequency (RF) with magnetic pulse therapy to heat the skin from the inside out. Heat generated by the unique hand-pieces triggers a wound healing process, stimulating a series of actions that melt fat and result in the synthesis of new collagen and elastin fibres, gradually slimming and smoothing the treated area.

As well as resulting in a circumferential reduction when applied to areas of the body such as the arms, thighs, stomach and hips, Venus Freeze can also be used to tighten sagging skin on other areas of the body, including the face – even in difficult areas such as the knees, arms and jowls under the neck – as well as to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Sydney dermatologist Dr Bryan Pang believes Venus Freeze is unique because of its ‘OctiPolar’ synthesiser hand-pieces. ‘This means that, rather than the energy being delivered via one or two “poles” on the applicator (known as mono- and bipolar systems, respectively), the energy is spread over eight poles, therefore delivering the energy evenly over a large area,’ he says. ‘In my experience, this decreases the treatment time, cuts down on discomfort and produces even results.’
