ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS COME TO CAPE TOWN
The Veritas Awards, South Africa's oldest and most esteemed wine show, celebrates 25 years of
excellence in wine this year. Over a quarter of a century the competition, organised by the South African
National Wine Show Association (SANWSA), has established itself as the foremost authority on wine
quality and a perennial highlight on the industry calendar.
To celebrate the monumental milestone, Veritas has announced a series of exclusive food and wine
evenings. The next event will take place at the Cullinan Hotel's Peach Tree Restaurant on 14 April 2015
at 18:30. Capetonians can look forward to a culinary feast fit for the occasion, expertly paired with a
selection of recent Veritas gold and double gold winning wines.
The dinner will be prepared by celebrity chef Bertus Basson from Overture Restaurant. Basson rose to
fame by establishing Overture in Stellenbosch as one of the finest restaurants in South Africa, featuring in
the coveted Eat Out Top 10 for six years running. He is highly regarded for his commitment to using
fresh, local ingredients and skill in perfecting the detail of every dish.
The dinner will be hosted by Veritas vice-chairperson and well-known Cape Wine Master, Bennie
Howard, who will discuss the wines and share interesting insights on the activities of Veritas. Tickets for
