Directions1. Strip leaves from one rosemary sprig. Chop leaves very finely and toss well with sugar in a small flat dish.2. Rub a bit of orange on the rim of a small cocktail glass and dip in the rosemary sugar mixture until the rim is dotted with sugar and rosemary. Add Pellegrino, Lillet, Aperol and ice to the glass. Top with Prosecco.3. Garnish with remaining sprig of rosemary and, if you’d like, a slice of orange.

e set off to plan a wedding that would reflect us and our adventurous and happy love. We approached the

wedding with the idea of bringing together friends to celebrate and thank them for their presence in our lives. We were eager to

marry in a place we would come back to in the future, a place that felt like home. As a teenager, Lucas had spent a summer restoring the West Monitor Barn. After visiting it again, years later, the choice was obvious.

We wanted to incorporate local wild flowers in our decor. The morning of the wedding, my mother set off to Burlington's farmer's market to pick up bunches of sunflowers and treats for our dessert table. Meanwhile we and the wedding party picked flowers from the fields around the barn for the ceremony. It was a peaceful and natural way to start our wedding day.

The Barn welcomed our guests with a clear, seventy degree afternoon in late September. An arch built by Lucas' dad, and adorned with fresh greenery and hydrangeas by Danika of Blomma Flicka Flowers, marked the grassy aisle leading to the wedding site. During our cocktail hour, a lively bluegrass trio performed for our guests while Michael's on the Hill served cider and rum cocktails, delicious appetizers and a whole roast pig provided by Terry of Vermont Pig Roasts. Within the barn, Blomma Flicka put together a romantic backdrop of luscious florals, ferns and moss for the dinner. Our wonderful photographers, Kelly and Micah Dudash of 822 Weddings, captured beautiful images of togetherness accompanied by the music from Jason Baron of Wedding DJ VT. - Olivia

have been dreaming about my wedding since I was a little girl and would prance around in a passed-down chic Spanish wedding

dress every moment it wasn’t in the washing machine and practice walking in my Nana’s high heels on the kitchen floor. All that

was missing from my fantasy wedding was the groom. That was settled on December 17th, 2011, when Brenden and I met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in a dark, dungy bar in South Boston. Our first date was four days later and I knew something was different and wonderful about this guy right away! Brenden proposed April 17th, 2013, on the front stoop of our brownstone and we celebrated by going to the restaurant where we had our first date. Brenden joked that I had a big, red “send” button that I simply hit and everything for our wedding was executed and done, invitations in the mail, etc… He quickly learned what everyone else already knew- I’d been dreaming about and planning my wedding since I was a little girl.

Brenden and I both grew up in rural towns; Brenden is from Maine and I’m from upstate New York. We wanted to find a venue at a mid-way point where our family and closest friends could come for the weekend, park their car, and be entertained and involved the entire time- preferably with a barn to hold the wedding. We had stayed at The Mountain Top Inn with Brenden’s parents for Christmas the previous year, so we set up a visit and got the official wedding tour and were sold, date set.

Everything I had dreamed about for my wedding day came true! The excitement I had since I was a little girl was real. And the best part- this great guy chose me to spend his life with. - Ann

ur decision to choose Vermont for our wedding was an easy one. Not only does my family call it home, but my husband and I spent

a significant amount of time there, having spent our college days at Middlebury College and our graduate school days in the Upper Valley at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. I did not grow up in

Vermont, but while I was studying at Middlebury, my parents bought an old farmhouse and a bunch of land and spent the next five years

fixing it up and making it our family's home. Growing up, my family never really had a "home" because of our rather nomadic lifestyle - we moved about every two years as a result of my dad's job. I lived in 12 different places by the time I was 18. After my parents found what we now call Double Dog Farm, we finally had a place to settle into and call home. My parents, hoping to retire there one day, have spent the majority of their free time fixing it up and turning it into a place where we can share the stunning beauty of Vermont, so it seemed only natural to have our wedding here. - Haley
