In a continent invaded by football
it is Impossible to live apart from it. This time, instead of fighting against our adversary,
we join it.
LA PARTIDA is a show of dance and football, created by choreographer VERO CENDOYA. The company continues in her efforts to combine contemporary dance with its antagonistic, and this time it is proposing to confront the "spectacle" of football. This show has been awarded with the PRIZE TO THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF FIRA DE TARREGA FESTIVAL 2015 , voted by professionals. Also winner of the CRITICS AWARDS 2015 to the best Art Street Performance. It has also been nominated for the MAX Awards in 3 categories: Best Cast Best Show Revelation Best Authorship Revelation. After collaborating and confront contemporary dance with artists from various disciplines such as hip hop dancers ( Brodas ) transformism ( in the case of Antagonics ) , painting ( with Sergio Mora) , poetry ( with Princess Inca) , this time , Cendoya intends to go further, and confront the dance with one of its biggest opposite, both physically and as a sociological phenomenon, the antagonistic FOOTBALL. In LA PARTIDA coexistence and artistic dialogue between these two expressions will be examined.
5 dancers and 5 players A football field
A referee Gathered in a peculiar game with its own rules.
We will use this dialog to also ask vitals questions. Talk about life through football and dance. We’ll put 5 dancers in a football field and in turn we’ll place 5 players in a theatrical form. All of this will reflect on issues such as: - What values prevail in our society? - What are the real needs of human beings? - The reality of the economic and intellectual power - Where is the line between sports and entertainment?
In LA PARTIDA there are no dancers ‘interpreting" football players, but they are directly faced with real players. It is a sight to be performed either in a football field or on the street (square, street, esplanade, etc.) always well defined. Both indoors or outdoors
The public is located around, in the stands, as in a f football match, and it plays of himself being an
active participant in the development of the show.
We will present evidence of the similarities and differences between the two disciplines, all bathed with a powerful sound, tinted with a side of light acid humor, which transports us on a fantastic trip that moves between the passion for sport and art.
The soundtrack of the show is composed by Adele Madau and played alive by a band and a local choir, who at the same time will play the rol of the followers of every team.
The game starts in a football court.
The rules of this game are not exactly those of football.
We invent new rules.
5 young men converse with 5 dancers.
A referee will control the rules that follow.
A band of musicians located between the public perform the soundtrack.
LA PARTIDA is inspired by the universe of the film “The referee” directed by Paolo Zucca. "The opium of the people" against the contemporary dance an art that was born from struggle to
attract new audiences
Why is football a spectacle of the masses?
Could Contemporary dance could become one?
Is it the Goal that makes the difference?
Or are the rules of the game what make football for the general public more accessible and
understandable?
It is precisely the lack of rules and freedom of dance which alienates the general public.

TECHNICAL ASPECTS - It's a show that can be performed both day and night , indoors or outdoors. - The stage is a football field or any open area that can be delimited ( with football field lines ). 20mx40m aprox. - The text can be recorded in another language if necessary. Or it is also possible to provide the translation in the playbill . - The public is placed around, on the stands, as in a football match. So the audience becomes an active participant of the show. STAGE NEEDS - Stands for the audience to be comfortable (ideal situation, but dispensable) - Marker field line - Lodges x 2 - Banks x 2 - 1 table 1 m. min long - One platform for the choir (in case of working with local choir) - Chairs for musicians (if working with local band) TECHNICAL AUDIO - PA Sound System 2 or 3-way suitable power to the stage space - 5 stage monitors - Table sound of at least 6 channels and independent monitors shipments - 4 condenser microphones for choir and orchestra with his mic stand (In case of choir and band music) LIGHTENING No special light requirements, it should simply be lit stage space (Or soccer field) where the show is represented. POSSIBLE COOPERATION WITH THE FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING THE SHOW In addition, this show gives the possibility of collaborating with local artists from the festival: - A choir that would learn three songs and sing them (as if they were the followers of the teams) - A group of local volunteers involved in three specific parts of the show (celebration of goals, etc, also followers) - And a brass band of four musicians, that would learn the score, and, together with Adele Madau, play live the soundtrack of the show. TO CARRY OUT THESE PARTNERSHIPS IT IS NECESSARY THAT THE DIRECTOR CENDOYA AND THE MUSIC COMPOSED BY ADELE MADAU, TRAVEL 3/4 DAYS IN ADVANCE TO WORK WITH THE LOCAL TEAM. If any of the three collaborations are is not possible, there is no problem, since it is optional.

VERONICA CENDOYA Born in BARCELONA, 16th June 1976 , she combines her profession of dancer and choreographer. She has a long career as a dancer for different companies in Spain and abroad. Currently she works at SOL PICÓ Dance Company, from Barcelona, as a dancer and assistant of the choreographer. And she is choreographer and movement assistant of the actress Blanca Portillo and her Theather Company. Since three years she also runs a theater dance group formed by people with disabilities. In 2008 , she creates VERO CENDOYA Dance Co. .Since she started to develop her own work and choreographies, she has put her focus on the interaction between dance and other arts, like artistic painting and cinema in case of STILLNES OF A SOUL, transformism in case of ANTAGONICS, experimental music in BATHROOM SYMPHONY, and football like in her last piece LA PARTIDA, co-produced by FIRA DE TARREGA FESTIVAL: 2015 . She also works in the field of artistic painting and children book illustration. The daily combination of two artistic disciplines in her life has made that the border between them has disappeared for her. Often she dances the subjects she is painting , or what she paints it's the dance piece she is dancing. One of the main objectives is to bring the contemporary dance to all kind of audiences, and obtained the following awards: • PRIZE TO THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF FIRA DE TARREGA FESTIVAL 2015 , voted by professionals, for LA PARTIDA. • CRITICS AWARDS 2015 to the best Art Street Performance for LA PARTIDA.
• Nominated for the MAX Awards in 3 categories for LA PARTIDA. • Finalist of DANSCAT 2012, prizes, organized by the Dance Professional Association of Catalunya, to the best carrer. • Special Prize from the audience in XII CHOREOGRAPHIC CONTEST OF MADRID with the show “18-28” 2004 • PRIZE TO THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF FIRA DE TARREGA FESTIVAL 2015 , voted by professionals by LA PARTIDA. • Festival Audience Award at YOUNG THEATRE FESTIVAL Escenia, Spain with multimedia show “Bodegones de un alma”. • Best international shortfilm at FESTIVAL INSHADOW Portugal with thes short film named LAST FISH. Her shows have been presented also in several festivals and theathers in Italy, Germany, Prague, Cuba, Taipei, China, and Belgium. CV AS PAINTER AND ILUSTRATOR She studied at Student Art League of New York. In 2000 she starts her collaboration with SAFIA GALLERY; Barcelona She has published 5 children books. Her works form a part of the scenery of the television series JET LAG, led by T de Teatre and produced and emitted to TV3, Catalan televisión Channel.
