Dear Fellow Arizonans,

Don’t vote for a sound bite.

This election season, it is critical to know the candidates, and understand how they would govern if elected.

Center for Arizona Policy (CAP) is your resource to help you cut through the political spin and get the facts about the candidates, directly from them. Since 1998, we’ve sent surveys to those running for o! ce and have reported their unedited responses back to you – with no punditry or political speech.

This printed guide is only a small piece of how CAP is able to help you this election season. On our Voter Guide website, azvoterguide.com, you can: • Read comments from candidates to the survey questions • Register to vote • Find your polling location • Access selected county and city election surveys • … and much more!

With our state’s long history of close elections, this year one person, one family, one church can make a di" erence. All you need to do to get started is be informed.

Standing for Arizona families,

Cathi Herrod, Esq.President

About Center for Arizona PolicyCenter for Arizona Policy is a nonprofi t research and education organization committed to promoting and defending the foundational values of life, marriage and family, and religious liberty. Visit azpolicy.org for more information.

Helpful hints• Identify your districts at azvoterguide.com.• To determine which candidate deserves your

vote, answer the questions yourself in the spaces provided, then compare your answers to the candidates’ answers.

• You are not required to vote for each race.• If there are multiple seats for a particular o! ce,

you may vote for as many candidates as there are open seats, or you may vote for one candidate.

What races are covered?• U.S. Senate• U.S. House of Representatives• Corporation Commission• Arizona State Senate • Arizona House of Representatives

Visit azvoterguide.com to:• Read comments from the candidates’ surveys.• View responses from write-in candidates or

candidates who missed the print deadline. • Access selected county and city candidate

surveys.• Identify your districts.• Determine your voting location.• Request an early ballot.• Access a personalized copy of this guide.

What is the August Primary Election about? The Primary Election decides which candidates will represent each political party in the November General Election. In September, watch for an updated edition of this Voter Guide for the General Election that will include information on key ballot measures, school board races, and judicial candidates.

Is the 2012 Voter Guide Democrat or Republican?Neither. It is factual, impartial, and nonpartisan. Every candidate in the covered races was treated equally and had the same opportunity to respond to the questions.

Who paid for the 2012 Voter Guide?Concerned Arizonans dedicated to responsible citizenship have donated to make this publication available. No candidate or political party paid for any part of this guide.

Are you endorsing specifi c candidates? No. This guide is a nonpartisan educational resource provided as a public service. No candidates are endorsed.

Why do some candidates not respond? We don’t know. All candidates were provided the same opportunity to respond to the survey questions. For candidates who declined to respond, we’ve provided the candidate’s contact information made available by the Arizona Secretary of State.

Support the 2012 Voter GuideThis guide would not be possible without the generous support of individuals around our state. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to continue this valuable work, you can call 602.424.2525 or visit azpolicy.org. While there, sign up for free email updates on issues critical to your family.
