The VL100 Bench Mount has thread sizes compatible with large size machines, with features such as 6 speed pulleys designed for single phase 1400rpm motors (motor not included), 24-position indexing head, hollow tailstock spindle with 65mm travel and headstock spindle equipped with taper roller bearings.

The VL100 has optional 500mm bolt on extension facility.

The VL100 Stand Mount EVS (electronic variable speed) provides up to 150% torque on low RPM, spindle speeds from 12-3500 rpm (see table), 240 volt – sufficient power to meet demands of the serious wood turner (0.55kW / 0.75HP Motor).

Vicmarc® were the first to introduce MT2, and taper roller bearings in this size lathe. The Vicmarc® mini lathe is in a class of its own when compared to other mini lathes on the market. The best value feature-by-feature of any mini lathe sold in the world. Vicmarc® is clearly the mini lathe of choice.

The VL175 Bench Mount EVS (electronic variable speed) is ideal for the hobbyist. This is a versatile machine because of its 90-degree swivel head facility and solid cast iron construction. The VL175 bench model is only available with electronic variable speed. An outboard turning attachment is an optional extra. The Variable Speed Unit for VL175 is contained inside a strong steel enclosure and can be mounted on the wall behind the machine.

The VL175 lathe has a 1.1kw electronic variable speed unit, which gives 200% torque in low RPM. On 1:1 ratio the speeds range from 30 to 3000rpm (see table). On 1:3 ratio the speeds range from 10 to 965rpm. For extra torque, simply change the Poly V Belt to the 1:3 ratio.

Headstock positioned at 90 degrees. The headstock can be positioned in 4 positions 0, 30, 60 & 90 degrees.

The VL175 Stand Mount EVS (electronic variable speed) lathe has a 1.1kw unit, which gives 200% torque in low RPM. On 1:1 ratio the speeds range from 30 to 3000rpm (see table). On 1:3 ratio the speeds range from 10 to 965rpm. For extra torque, simply change the Poly V Belt to the 1:3 ratio.

The VL200 Long Stand Mount 6 Speed Lathe has the capacity of a full size lathe and offers many features such as tapered roller bearings, indexing facility, storage space, easy discharge wood shaving chute and through holes in both spindles. A fully cast iron lathe, mounted on a solid constructed 3mm steel stand, with a 700mm footprint, gives the turner a vibration free machine. This is an excellent lathe at an economical price. This lathe has similar features to the VL300 series but more compact in size. The electronic variable speed drive gives up to 200% torque on low rpm and the 1.5kw motor is more than adequate for this size lathe. The cast iron lathe is mounted on a 5mm thick steel plate stand, which has been designed with a 700mm wide footprint for stability and rigidity. The stand also features wood shaving discharge chute and a knee stop bar.

The VL200 Sit Down lathe has been designed to suit people in wheelchairs or for people who have trouble standing for a long period of time.The lathe comes complete with an electronic variable speed unit, a 1.5kW motor and a magnetic remote switch box that can be positioned anywhere where you are working.The stand can also be purchased separately to suit a VL200 Short bed Lathe(Stand Only - Part No. V01083)The stand is designed to be adjustable to suit many different applications and sizes. The adjustable legs allow up to 150mm height adjustment (every 25mm) and the pivoting bed allows a tilt angle from 0° to 45° (every 7.5°).The work height range from the floor to the centre of the spindle while the lathe is tilted at 45° is from 750mm to 900mm (for sit down operation) and when the lathe is horizontal (tilted at 0°) the height range is from 950mm to 1100mm (for standing operation).

The VL300 Long Adjustable Stand Mount EVS (electronic variable speed) lathe has been designed to suit most professional wood turners. The electronic variable speed drive gives up to 200% torque on low rpm and it comes with a powerful 2.2kw motor. The three-step pulleys provide 3 ratios 1:1 for small to medium size work; 1:1.5 for medium to large work; and 1:3 for large work.

The cast iron lathe is mounted on a 5mm thick steel plate stand, which has been designed with a 700mm wide footprint for stability and rigidity. The stand also features storage space, wood shaving discharge chute and emergency knee stop bar.

This machine is ideal for final work or any type of long projects.

18. OUTBOARD TURNINGBoth the Tripod and the Outboard Turning Attachment have a 40mm diameter support post that is locked with indexed locking levers.

These are very rigid outboard turning attachments and have swan necks to increase access to the work piece.

The balancing system mounts on the outboard side of your lathe and is suited for out-of-round or off-centre work. Using the balancing system enables you to work with higher RPM. When removing stock you may occasionally have to rebalance your work by simply undoing the grub screws and turning the balancing weights to the desired position.

The VM90 chuck is for those who prefer to operate the chuck using the quick- acting Tommy Bars (levers), which saves time when mounting and dismounting. 28. VM150 CHUCK

The VM150 has two actions, one to quickly open and close the chuck as though it was lever operated (fully opens within 3 revolutions), the other to tighten using the 'T' key as you would in a standard key operated scroll chuck.

To switch from lever operated to key operated, line up the two dots as shown above, and rotate the locking pinion using the 10mm T-bar (supplied with the chuck). Turn clockwise to engage and anti-clockwise to disengage.

The Vicmarc® Escoulen Chuck originally designed by Jean Francois Escoulen and manufactured by Vicmarc® expands the possibilities for off centre turning. The accessories also allow eccentric turning.

The main feature of the chuck is its infinitely variable axis setting capacity. With the range of 0 to 30mm each setting gives a different turning axis. In addition to this the rotating cup chuck allows you to create an even wider variety of shapes, depending on the chosen axis. The optional ball chuck allows the work piece to be swiveled up to 15° off the z-axis for even more flexible turning. (See diagram)

The Vicmarc® Warranty PolicyVicmarc® Machinery Pty Ltd makes every effort to manufacture Vicmarc® products to a high quality standard, using the finest materials and up to date manufacturing methods. However, if a customer experiences problems with Vicmarc® Products, we must make every effort to remedy the problem.

In the first instance, distributors are responsible to manage warranty issues on behalf of Vicmarc® Machinery.

The warranty period for electronics, such as motors and units is 12 months. The warranty period for lathe parts, chucks and accessories is 5 years.

If within the warranty period the product fails due to faulty materials or workmanship, the distributor on behalf of Vicmarc® Machinery, will need to arrange for the repair or replacement of faulty items.

The warranty is subject to the following conditions:• Vicmarc® will decline liability if the product

has been modified in any way without written authorisation from Vicmarc® Machinery

• The warranty is void if the product shows signs of misuse or abnormal over-use i.e. daily heavy-duty industrial use.

• The warranty is conditional on the product having been installed and used according to the instruction provided in the owner’s manual.

• The product has not been subjected to misuse and or negligence.

• Faulty items will be replaced where possible with an identical item or a suitable substitute.

• Belts are excluded from warranty cover.

• The distributor should retain failed items, as Vicmarc® or suppliers to Vicmarc® may need them to investigate the cause of failure to initiate improvements.

• Any major replacement of parts and equipment under warranty, resulting in a claim against Vicmarc® Machinery, requires prior approval from Vicmarc® office before a replacement is agreed to.

Please note:At times, a judgment call by the distributor may be needed to determine whether there is a genuine case for a claim under warranty.
