22 year old Khmer American resident of Long Beach

Shot by unmarked police that stepped out of an unmarked van after he allegedly “pulled” out a gun.

Police kept family from visiting Sokha in the hospital in critical condition, in hopes he would die before he could reveal information.

After activism and pressure from the community, family could visit Sokha after 10 days

Shot 41 times by plains clothed NYPD, killed on sight. Diallo was unarmed, killed for “pulling out a gun” that was in actuality his wallet

NYPD claimed that they announced themselves clearly and Diallo did not respond

Diallo’s native language was French, and he did not understand the officers

All four police officers involved were acquitted
