MORGAN BERINGERThe Attempt to Escape Noise, 2:50, UK

An exploratory stroboscopic challenge to the mystical and severely aestheticised

    metanarrative.

Morgan Beringeris an American artist based in East London. Having spent and

continuing to spend much of his life in transit between different countries, the

thrust of his creative concern stems from the dilemma of living in-between

cultures. An acedemic background in both philosophy and art pushed these

concerns further into the realms of linguistics, performance and film/video art.

    GULI SILBERSTEINExcerpt, 4.35, Israel

One excerpt from a flow of Internet video news: a family is hiding behind a wall in a

neighborhood that turned into a war zone. The compressed video is slowed down, enlarged,

and accompanied by a new soundscape, revealing additional dimensions in the scene. The

image is transformed into a psychedelic landscape, creating a troubling contrast between

imagery and content, leading to an uneasy affect: anxiety deconstructed into pixels.

Guli Silberstein graduated from Tel-Aviv University with a BA in Film & Video in

1997. He lived in Manhattan, New York from 1997 -2002, during which time he

graduated from the New School University in 2000 with a MA in Media Studies and

a focus on Media Art and video editing. In 2002 he returned to Tel Aviv, where he

continued to develop his ideas in the form of video art works, which have been

presented in festivals, museums and galleries such as: Transmediale Berlin, Kassel

Film and Video Festival, Videobrasil Sao Paolo, Museum on the Seam Jerusalem,

the National Centre ofContemporary Art Moscow, and ScalaMata exhibition space, Venice.

Since March 2010, Guli Silberstein lives in London, UK .

    ANNEY BONNEYRain Remeditation, 9:09, USA

Does the pervasive fact of media compel us to remediate something as simple as rain and as

    complex as dreaming?

This installation explores the threshold between external and internal transitional states,

    conscious weather and doppler dreaming.

The project aims to bring our auditory and visual senses into more equal alignment, to

stimulate imagination, inquiry and expansion of our habituated sensory bandwidth.

Anney Bonney paints, makes videos, writes and lives in New York City.

A former contributing arts editor at Bomb magazine and Performance/Video curator at the

Kitchen, she has shown her work at numerous Film Festivals including: Oberhausen,
