How the war of independence started

The Irish war of Independence started in 1916 by the Irish.

There have been many battles between the Irish and the British but the main attacks came in the 19th century with the 1916 rising and the war of independence which we will be showing in these videos.

General Michael Collins MICHAEL COLLINS was one of Ireland great leaders

He came up with an idea to fight the war of independence in a guerilla style as shown in this clip

Michael Collins was always doing what no one expected him to do. He got the British out and no one expected him to do this.

Guerilla war Michael Collins organized his men to fight a guerilla

style war because if the Irish fought the British army head to head, the English army would have dominated they had more men and more ammunition.

Thus the Irish preferred to use the ambush as shown in this clip

The Black and Tans In the war of independence the Irish fought the Black

and Tans.

These soldiers were let out of prison to try and control the Irish from starting another up rising.

But most of them were heartless murderers and thieves as shown in this clip .

Bloody Sunday The night before bloody Sunday Michael Collins men

shot fourteen British spies dead.

The black and tans got angry and they drove into Croke Park and shot 12 Irish men.
