He reported back that the enhanced elevation data helped him document the actual conditions surrounding John Deere’s new moisture probes which had been installed in the field. IDOT Program Development meeting for IDOT engineers Oct 16 or 17 in Springfield, ILo Amy Eller presentation on LiDAR Data, What it Is and What it Isn’t.o LiDAR presentation went well; I have had several follow up calls concerning obtaining data in particular areas.

IDOT has 2 ArcGIS classes coming up in Nov for LiDAR. I am also working to develop training for IDOT employees on how IDOT uses LiDAR—specific applications for IDOT uses from current software we have.

ISGS seeks monument data for map service: NGS, IDOT, ISGS, USACE, counties, cities, and universities. (Lund)o Start with NGS data from NSRS, USGS Stream Gauges, ILHMP Level Lines by Year, IDOT D2 monuments.o C. Stohr shared some input about future content of map service in development.

Years 6-7-8: 7 east-west level lines totaling 1,015 miles, densification efforts, and spur lines to connect to other states.o Mike has driven 6 lines of the 7, will drive line 2 after October break.

clean-up the first return data, breakline data as shapefile. Need: metadata, boresight data, tile index.o IDOT District 9 data processing: southern Johnson, Massac, Pulaski from Merrick: est. $70,000

IDOT has expended remaining $37K to cover 65% of LiDAR classification by10/31/12 Estimate for 35% LiDAR classification, hydro-flattening breaklines, final deliverable prep. Subject to UIUC sole source acquisition process. IDOT and USGS may allocate funds to fast-track.

o Expressed willingness to use ILHMP $$ to supplement data processing for Jefferson County (see below).

Suggested priorities: Pope, Hardin, Madison.o NRCS hopes to revisit acquisition opportunities in FY2013 for a single county; interested in partners.o Surdex has a contract with Adams County to acquire 6-inch ortho and process existing LiDAR for contourso USACE may reacquire Mississippi River bluff-to-bluff south of St. Louiso Village of Oak Brook, IL may have acquired 20111 LiDARo Jefferson County acquired March 2012. 2-foot contours LiDAR and 6-in ortho.

o Madison County: no progress to report. Awaiting final Alton Connector. Data exchange offer sent 5/15/12.

o USGS, USACE, IDOT; vendor Western Airmaps, acquired by Wilson & Co QA/QC underway. LAS data for Mississippi and Illinois Rivers, Calhoun, Jersey, Union, and Alexander counties in Illinois

and Perry County in Missouri. Iowa DNR will also process into geodatabases; no delivery date set.

o FEMA Saline Watershed, Wabash Watershed, Sangamon/ Christian County Boundary. Awaiting re-delivery. Sent data calls for Model Key Points and a number of QA/QC issues identified for all project areas.

Expect re-delivery of LAS data, metadata, and tile index for all three areas. Corrections involve creation of new index files, improvement of the metadata record, an

update to the project narrative, incorrect class numbers in the fully classified dataset. NRCS will pay up to $100,000 for hydro-flattening and DEMs to incorporate data into NED

for Hamilton, White, Williamson, Saline, Gallatin (Saline Watershed) Counties.

USGS update from S. Silch.o St. Louis area river acquisitions: Lock and Dam 20 to 24 north and along the levees near St. Louis.

Don has select data tiles from Connor Watkins [email protected] acquired by St. Louis County. Connor Watkins no longer with USGS; Don needs to follow-up with Ray Fox.

High-Res Lidar and Orthoimagery also collected for dikes.
