Advisors Message
We are excited to welcome you back to the 2017-18 school year. Many changes have taken place within the department to include new offerings to allow you the opportunity to grow as this year progresses. We challenge each and every one of you to get involved and make the most of the opportunities placed in front you. Your level of growth will be dependent on your ability to embrace the total program and successfully include FFA, SAE, and classroom. Our officer team and advisors have made it possible for you to achieve this level by planning and implementing this Program of Activities to nurture your growth through cooperative learning, teamwork, and personal growth. The goal of the Ripon FFA this year is “Cultivating Change!”; whether it be for yourself, at home, or within your community, and challenge yourself to cultivate that change!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sherry JohnsAdvisor Mrs. Celeste

Do You Just Belong? Are you an active member,
the kind that wouldn’t be missed?Or are you just content
to have your name among the list?Do you attend the meetings, and mingle with the flock?
Or do you usually stay awayand criticize and mock?
Do you take an active part,to help and work along?
Or are you satisfiedto be the kind that just belongs?
Do you pitch in, and do your share,to really make things tick?
Or leave the work to just a few, that you would call “the clique?”
There’s quite a program scheduledthat we’re sure you’ve heard about,
and we’ll appreciate it if you too, will help us work things out.
So come to the meetings often, and help with hand and heart.
Don’t just be a member, but take an active part.Think this over, friend,
because you know right from wrong,Are you an “ACTIVE MEMBER,”
or do you just belong?

Make a positive difference in the lives of others. Dress neatly and appropriately for the occasion. Respect the rights of others and their property. Be courteous, honest, and fair with others. Communicate in an appropriate, purposeful, and positive
manner. Demonstrate good sportsmanship by being modest in winning
and generous in defeat. Make myself aware of FFA programs and activities and be an
active participant. Conduct and value a supervised agricultural experience
program. Strive to establish and enhance my skills through agricultural

FFA CREED
I believe in the future of agriculture, with a faith born not of words but of deeds-achievements won by the present and past generations of agriculturists; in the promise of better days through better ways, even as the better things we now enjoy have come to us from the struggles of former years.
I believe that to live and work on a good farm, or to be engaged in other agricultural pursuits, is pleasant as well as challenging; for I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life and hold an inborn fondness for those associations which, even in hours of discouragement, I cannot deny.
I believe in leadership from ourselves and respect from others. I believe in my own ability to work efficiently and think clearly, with such knowledge and skill as I can secure, and in the ability of progressive agriculturists to serve our own and the public interest in producing and marketing the product of our toil.
I believe in less dependence on begging and more power in bargaining; in the life abundant and enough honest wealth to help make it so-for others as well as myself; in less need for charity and more of it when needed; in being happy myself and playing square with those whose happiness depends upon me.
I believe that American agriculture can and will hold true to the best traditions of our national life and that I can exert an influence in my home and community which will stand solid for my part in that inspiring task.

Note: Members who have learned the FFA Creed by November 1st and are selected to participate in the Sectional Creed recitation contest (local contest
