In order to avoid the communication gap among the various
stakeholders of the institute on all academic and administrative
matters and also to facilitate the achievement of the intended
student learning outcomes, the ‘Faculty Council’ of the college
resolved to bring out a quarterly e-newsletter. The various
activities organized from time to time, be it co-curricular or
extracurricular will be a part of this newsletter. All important
events planned will also be covered.
Besides mailing online to all the concerned, this will also be kept
on our website. We earnestly seek suggestions for improvement.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
A Faculty Development programme was held on “Effective
Teaching & Learning strategies”. It was inaugurated by Sri. K.
Harishchandra Prasad, Vice-President, Vignana Jyothi and the
Guest Speaker was Prof. M. Pardhasaradhi , Siva Sivani Institute
of Management”. The programme was held on 09-06-2017.

ACHEIVEMENT AWARD:
Ms. N. Aruna, Principal received ‘WOMEN IN EDUCATION AWARD’ from Business School
Affaire & Dewang Mehta National Education Awards on 15-04-2017 on this occasion she was
felicitated on behalf of Staff and Management by Dr.Vijaya Prasad,director.

THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA: International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21-06-2017 in the college premises. The Chief Guest was
Sri. Laxma Reddy Guruji of Siddhi Samadhi Yoga.

DASARDHI KRISHNAMACHARAYULU JAYANTHI CELEBRATIONS: Dasaradhi Krishnamacharayulu Jayanthi was celebrated in college on 22 July. The program was
organized by the Telugu Dept. The principal, vice principal, faculty and students spoke on the
contribution of Dasaradhi Krishnamacharyulu to Telugu literature and on his life.
Dr B.Venkateshwarlu, Telugu lecturer, played the role of an anchor.
PLACEMENT CELL ACTIVITIES: Mr. K.N. Rao, Managing Partner of Skill India Edu Tech Pvt. Ltd. gave a presentation on 15th July on
the job opportunities available for undergraduates and how Skill India can help the students get trained
and get jobs.

VISIT TO JETKING TRAINING INSTITUTE: 42 students from II and III year BCom, BSc and BBA along with Ms. T. Rama and Ms
Gayathri, from the Placement Cell, visited Jetking Training Institute at Secunderabad to know
about the courses offered by them for employment and to see their infrastructural facilities on
22nd July, 2017.
On 29th July, Ms Kalpana, member of the placement cell of the college organised a presentation
on the process of placement, i.e., all the stages of an interview which the students have to go
through at the time of placements. Ms. T. Rama, convener, Placement Cell gave introductory
remarks and made students who have already gone through the interview process to share their
experiences with others.
TRAFFIC AWARENESS WEEK: Mr. Thakur Vir Singh, ASI and Mr. Venkat, constable, Hyderabad Traffic Police, Marredpally Station
visited the college and conducted Traffic Awareness Week in the college on 05-08-2017.
ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR THE FRESHERS: Orientation programme for the freshers was conducted on 19th July. The Principal, Vice-Principal, and
the conveners of all the committees addressed the students. The freshers were given an overview of the
curricular and extracurricular activities in college by the respective conveners.
RALLY FOR RIVERS- AWARENESS PROGRAM: Representatives of the Isha Foundation visited the college on 10th August to spread awareness on the
condition of the Indian rivers that are disappearing rapidly and to support the program, ‘Rally for
Rivers’ by giving a missed call to the number 80009 80009.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS: Independence Day was celebrated in the college on 15th August by the students and the faculty. The
Principal, Vice-Principal and students spoke about the freedom struggle and freedom fighters and the
important role students can play in safeguarding our freedom.

COMPUTER CLUB
Computer club was inaugurated by the Computer Science Department on 22 July, 2017. Ms. T. Radhika
initiated computer club as a monthly event. The aim of this event is to create awareness about the new
and emerging technology. The seminars will be given by students. Ms.Alekya and Ms. Veena of
B.Com II year, talked about Drone Cameras and its Technology. Ms.A.Swapna is nominated as the club
coordinator.
‘FRESCO FIESTA’ FRESHERS’ DAY The students of 2nd and 3rd year organised ‘Fresco Fiesta’ Freshers’ Day for the 1st year students on 26
August. The 2nd and 3rd year students showcased various performances and the freshers participated
actively to win the title of ‘Mr & Miss Fresher’

Saturday Seminars: Garry Kasparov’s ‘TED TALK’ “Don’t Fear Intelligent Machines, Work with Them” was shown to
the faculty on 6 June. Two motivational videos on Artificial Intelligence were shown to the faculty to
motivate them to use technology productively in teaching. It was followed by a discussion on
Artificial Intelligence.
A seminar on the topic ‘My Story’ was conducted on 24 June for the students of 3rd Semester. The
students spoke about people who inspire and motivate them.
A seminar on the topic ‘Inter personal skills’ was conducted for the students of B.Sc 3rd Semester; on
the topic ‘Self Motivation’ for the students of BBA 3rd Semester; and on the topic ‘Gaining
Knowledge’ for the students of B.Com 3rd Semester on 1 July.
A debate on the topic, “Love Marriage Vs Arranged Marriage”, was held on 19 August for the 1st
semester students of all streams.
A JAM session was conducted on the topic ‘Corruption’ on 29 July. Students from all the streams
participated very enthusiastically in the JAM Session.
A debate was conducted on the topic ‘Skills v/s Degrees’ between the students of BBA and BSc 3rd
Semester on 22 July.
Debate on ‘Skills Vs Degrees’ was conducted for I and II year students.
NSS Activities: Haritha Haaram Program was organised by the NSS wing of the college and saplings were distributed.
The NSS Committee organised food distribution to orphans of Manchikallalu.
On 22nd and 23rd August, clay Ganesh Idol making workshop was conducted.Mr. N,
Shashidhar was the coordinator .
Clay Ganesha idols were sold to promote eco friendly Ganesha on 24th August, 2017.

A promotion of eco friendly Ganesha competition was
conducted at Mahaboob college by department of
pollution control NGC. Our NSS students participated &
Ms. B. Geetha of B.Com II year and Mr. E. Shiva
Shanker of BBA II got first prize on 18-08-2017.
Our NSS students participated in 5K Marathon
at Hitech-city which was conducted by Airtel on
19-08-2017.
The NSS Committee organized a plantation
drive for faculty in the college under Haritha
Haaram Program on 05-08-2017.
News in Brief: A new course – B.Com General was introduced this year.
Nina Bandwagon Organisation conducted dance auditions in the college on 10 August.
Mr Aditya and his team from Art of Living visited the college and addressed the students on the
topic ‘How to Make Ourselves Happy’.
Activities Planned:
As a part of Centenary Celebrations of Osmania University, it is planned to organise a State
Level Seminar on the theme “Financial Reforms in Indian Economy” on October 27, 2017.
Several industrialists, academia of Osmania University, Principals, faculty and students of
several colleges are expected to participate in the seminar.
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Osmania University, Prof. Ramachandram, has kindly consented to
be the chief guest for the inaugural session. Two competitions are proposed to be held on this
occasion which include:
(a)Paper Presentations by the students on the theme
(b) Business Idea competition.
Cash awards will be given to the winning participants.
