Top 100 Kosher Wines of 2015.#1 Matar Cumulus 2013*

New to market in 2015 and coming from the Peltar winery, this blend has a soft

texture coupled with a distinct minty flavor and a hint of light spice. The grapes are

grown in the Galilee region of Israel, harvested manually and aged for 14 months in

oak barrels. Pairs well with: Stilton, cheddar or smoked gouda.

#2 Capcanes Peraj Petita 2012

For Peraj Petita, Capcanes selects the best grapes from its indigenous varieties of

Garnacha, Samson and Ull de Llebre. The grapes are harvested from ancient vines up

in the mountains. Peraj Petita exhibits lively fruit and seductive aromas of red berries

and cherry. It reflects the terroir and great varieties of the area. Pairs well with: New

York strip steak or lamb shanks braised in tomato broth.

#3 Shiloh Secret Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Shiloh Secret Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 is a luxurious wine with a dark red

color and aromas of black fruit and cassis. It's a smooth wine, full of flavor and notes

of fruit. It's rich bouquet of tobacco and coffee make for a delightful long finish. Pairs

#6 Casa Del Cielo Chardonnay 2013

Refreshing and crisp, Casa Del Cielo Chardonnay carries an aromatic blend of soft

melon, pineapple and apricots along with zesty mandarin orange. On the palate, this

wine provides a pleasant and fruit-heavy exposure with a distinguished and long

finish. Pairs well with: Chicken, pizza and salmon.

#7 Herzog Variations Four Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

This cabernet blend exhibits plum flavors, aromas of red cherry, hits of red currant

and a toasted coconut finish celebrating the unique terroir of the Golden State. A

wonderful celebration of California wine making. Pairs well with: Lamb Bolognese

and home made spaghetti.

#8 Yarden Hermon Red 2013

Yarden Mount Hermon was produced from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a

small amount of Cabernet Franc, all grown in the Golan Heights. The cool climate,

rocky volcanic soil and high altitude are ideal conditions for growing the grapes that

makes this wine. Moderately early pressing yields a wine with good color and ample

fruit that can be enjoyed without extensive aging. Best served at 55 to 60 degrees

Fahrenheit. Pairs well with: Braised short ribs.

#9 Lewis Pasco The Pasco Project #2 2013

Limited editon and allocated wine that is aged for four months in French oak. The

result is a much loved, vibrant and complex wine. Pairs well with: Grilled steak .

#10 Psagot Sinai

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, from vineyards in the northern

mountains of Israel, at a height of 900 meters. Psâgot Sinai is a refreshing, fruity and

beautifully balanced wine. Excellent wine for this price point. Pairs well with: Shitake

mushrooms and red peppers.

#11 Chateau Giscours Margaux 2012

A wine with an incredible historical track record dating back as far as the 14th

century. Chateau Giscours Margaux expresses an exceptional finesse and elegance

through its well balanced and classic composition. The blend is 60 percent Cabernet

Sauvignon, 32 percent Merlot, 5 percentCabernet Franc and 3 percent Petit Verdot.

Pairs well with: Charcuterie, blue cheese or mushrooms.

#12 Abarbanel Old Vines Riesling

Sourced from Old Vines grown at the foot of the Vosges Mountains, long considered

one of the world's best terroirs for Riesling, this wine is packed with plenty of

perfume and floral notes to delight the nose and infused with tons of tang, spices,

herbal and citrus notes to tantalize the tongue. Hand harvested, mevushal and

attractively priced. Pairs well with: Fresh salty cheese like feta, or grilled chicken with

cashew sauce.

#13 Terra di Seta Chianti Classico 2009

Terra di Seta Chianti Classico does its soil proud as a delicious and nuanced example

of Italy's most famous wine. A blend (95% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon)

of organically grown grapes, this wine is medium- to high-bodied, with a bright ruby

red. Combines softness, elegance and typical territorial through a rich bouquet. Hints

of cherry, berry and violet. Pairs well with: Pappardelle pasta with a rich meat ragu or

bistecca fiorentina.

#14 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Though enjoyable upon release, the Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon will improve

significantly with a few more years of bottle aging, and will remain in excellent

drinking condition for 10-15 years and beyond. Pairs well with: Herb crusted lamb.

#15 Baron Herzog Chenin Blanc 2012

This wine exhibits intense fruity notes of gooseberry, white peach and nectarine.

#16 Tabor Adama II Raam Thunder 2012

One of the Galilee's most impressive blends, Tabor Adama II Thunder is comprised of

60 percent Syrah and 40 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in French oak for 12

months. This powerful wine is marked by its potent finish which slowly softens with

every sip. Pairs well with: Lamb burgers.

#17 Recanati Syrah

Recanati Syrah/Viognier Reserve is a flavorful and bold wine comprised of 97 percent

Syrah and 3 percent Viognier. Produced to perfection in the Upper Galilee, this wine

is noticeably delicate on the palate for one's enjoyment. An excellent and flavorful

choice for any festive occasion. Pairs well with: Duck confit.

#18 Yarden Katzrin Chardonnay 2013

Yarden Katzrin Chardonnay, which fermented and aged in new French oak barrels,

exhibits the depth and richness of Chardonnay grown in the coldest reaches of the

northern Golan Heights. Pairs well with: Havarti cheese or salmon.

#19 Jezreel Levanim

Levanim 2014 is a fusion of three white varietals, Chardonnay, Colombard, and

Gewürztraminer. Each varietal is gently pressed and fermented in a slow, cold

fermentation. The three varietals are assembled for a fresh, floral-white blend. Pairs

well with: Salmon mi-cuit.

#20 Gilgal Brut

Gilgal Brut was produced in the cool climate of the Golan Heights, using only

traditional methods and aged for a minimum of one year in the bottle. This is a fun,

well priced, quality sparkler. Apple and citrus aromas and flavors are accented with

spice and toasty oak within a well-balanced frame showing crisp acidity and good

length. A great choice for the price. Pairs well with: Asparagus and avocado salad.

#21 Shiloh Legend II 2010

A sophisticated and beautiful wine, Shiloh Legend II is comprised of an exquisite

blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Sangiovese (5%), and Carignan (25%). Aged for

16 months in French oak, this red blend is marked by an opulent ruby color coupled

by plush hints of black fruit and a complex bouquet of tobacco, mint and other soft

tone spices. Topped off by a well-balanced and long finish. Ages well with time. Pairs

well with: Very dark chocolate.

#22 Chateau La Clare 2012

Chateau La Clare is one such bottle, ready to give you the world-class enjoyment

today that is only possible from authentic red Bordeaux. And for a wine that drinks

like a third-growth classified wine, it represents outstanding value for the serious

connoisseur. Pairs well with: BBQ meats.

#23 Jezreel Valley Adumim 2013

Adumim is a rich, spicy and complex fusion of Carignan, Syrah and Argaman. Each

component is aged separately for 14 to 16 months in 50 percent new oak before

being blended and spending another two months in oak in order for the varietals to

harmonize. The wine is expressive and refreshing for a red, with a nose that sings of

red fruits and roasted Mediterranean herbs, with a touch of eucalyptus, and clearly

manifests the Israeli terroir. Pairs well with: Grilled meats and beef stew.

#24 Ramon Cardova Rioja 2013

Ramon Cardova is a luxurious example of Spain's famous Rioja wines. Produced from

100 percent Tempranillo grapes, which are carefully selected from old vines

surrounding the town of Haro, La Rioja. It has a bright ruby red color, a nose of ripe

wild berries and balsamic aromas. Pairs well with: Lamb, steak and hearty meats.

#25 Chateau La Tonnelle Haut Medoc 2012

Chateau La Tonnelle carries a well-balanced structure with a delicate oak character.

Pairs well with: Smoked salmon.

#26 Binyamina Cave 2010

Binyamina Cave is a blended wine (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and 2%

Petit Verdot). The grapes were harvested in the choicest vineyards in the Upper

Galilee and underwent meticulous production processes. Aged for 24 months in

French oak barrels. Pairs well with: Aged steak and hearty roasted vegetables.

#27 Covenant Red C Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Covenant "Red C" Cabernet Sauvignon is rich and opulent, yet accessible. The wine

has a highly vivacious character with ripe, round, black cherry, blackberry and herb

flavors couched in firm acidity and soft, supple tannins. The finish is long and lush on

the palate. Pairs well with: Lamb, especially roasted or rack of lamb.

#28 Capcanes Peraj Petita Rosat 2013

This is a rose wine made by "saignée" method (no direct press, short maceration

from four to six hours). It is a medium, bright red and very aromatic. Flavors of red

fruit,, specifically strawberry. Interesting acidity and long, fruity finish. Pairs well with:

Pizza, pasta with tomato sauce, smoked salmon, chicken, vegetable paella or

mushroom risotto.

#29 Bartenura Asti

This classic Asti exhibits all of the wonderfully rich aromas of the Moscato grape. It is

a fruity, effervescent wine, with fresh peachy aroma and luscious fruity flavor. Serve

chilled. Pairs well with: Cheese and light desserts.

#30 Tabor Adama Merlot

Produced from Merlot grapes grown on rich volcanic soil in the Moshav of Ramot

Naftali in the Upper Galilee region. This wine has pronounced flavors of black forest

fruits, underlayed by plums and tobacco. Pairs well with: Blackened fish .

#31 Drappier Brut Champagne Carte Blanche

The Carte Blanche is a blend made exclusively from the first pressing, fresh and fruity

with undertones of yeast, leading to a final product considered to be a great

Champagne by the Domaine. Pairs well with: Sriracha deviled eggs.

#32 Chateau D'Arveyres Bordeaux Superieur 2014

90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc offering excellent value for money. Dry and

light bodied with fruit and berry flavors. Pairs well with: Smoked trout or hard cheese.

#33 Gush Etzion Spring River Semi Dry White 2012

This excellent semi-dry wine is a blend made of the most aromatic variety grapes

that grow on the slopes of the hills of Gush Etzion. It carries a hint of bitterness offers

a unique experience. Lots of alcohol and a flowery bouquet. Great as a dry aperitif.

Pairs well with: Grilled fish.

#34 Hevron Heights Isaac's Ram Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

These cabernet grapes spend their lifetime growing in the Mediterranean sun of

Israel's coastal plain before being barrel aged for 18 months. The result is a wine that

carries notes of black pepper and aromatic spices. Pairs well with: Grilled meats.

#35 Domaine du Castel Rose du Castel 2014

Winemaker, Eli Ben-Zaken, crafts this wine by allocating a portion of premium grape

varietals – Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc – destined for the winery's flagship

wine, Domaine du Castel Grand Vin. The grapes are picked early to ensure that the

resulting wine has enough acidity to offer the crisp and tart nature of a rose that is

expected. This rose in best at it's youth and not intended for cellaring. Pairs well with:

Muchroom quiche.

#36 Psagot Cabernet Sauvignon Single Vineyard 2013

Comparable to a cru classe Bordeaux or cult Napa Valley red, the deep purple color

foreshadows the dark berry and blackcurrant aromas that are framed by the richest

vanilla of aging in premium barrels. Pairs well with: Beef Wellington.

#37 Segal's Fusion Red Blend 2013

Segal's Fusion was created by forward-thinking winemaker Avi Feldstein. It's a young,

easy to drink wine for today's fast paced and informal lifestyle. A special blend of

carefully selected grapes (60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 20% Cabernet

Sauvignon). Made with the high-tech process of micro-oxygenation, this wine is very

round with exotic spiciness and plenty of fruit. Pairs well with: Richly sauced dishes.

#38 Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon is made from a number of the finest Cabernet vineyards

in the Golan Heights. Aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, it exhibits ripe red

and black fruit characters layered with hints of earth, spices and French oak. Full-

bodied and aromatic, this wine is complex and elegant. Though enjoyable upon

release, the Yarden Cabernet Sauvignon will improve significantly with a few more

years of bottle aging, and will remain in excellent drinking condition for 10-15 years

beyond that. Pairs well with: Herb-crusted leg of lamb, pan-seared ribeye steaks, or

duck braised in Merlot with shiitake mushrooms.

#39 Dalton Canaan Red 2013

Dalton's Canaan Red is a blend of several varieties including Cabernet, Merlot and

Shiraz. A medium-bodied red wine bursting with flavors of forest fruit, berries and

hints of vanilla and cloves, this is a wine that is easy to drink. Best if served at room

temperature, around 61 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Pairs well with: Pasta and pizza.

#40 Baron Herzog White Zinfandel 2013

This wine has aromas of strawberry and cotton candy, making it remarkably versatile.

The wine has a crisp texture, bright color and distinctively fresh taste. Serve chilled.

Pairs well with: Fish, poultry entrees or as an aperitif.

#41 Barkan Classic Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

The wine displays a deep ruby red color, a bouquet redolent of spicy berry aromas

intermingled with oak, and a full round body. Pairs well with: Grilled meats and

This wine offers a mouth full of delicious fruit. It is well-balanced. Pairs well with:

#46 Casa Del Cielo Reserve Malbec/Syrah 2013

Casa Del Cielo Reserve Malbec/Syrah is marked by an exceptional acidity and

complexity. It enjoys delicate aromatic notes of fresh prunes and cerise mix. On the

palate, this wine carries a silky texture with notes of chocolate, blackberries and hints

of tobacco capped off by a long and pleasurable finish. Pairs well with: Leaner meats

and pasta.

#47 Gilgal Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Gilgal Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in

the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee. The cool climate, rocky volcanic soil and high

#48 Galil Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

#50 Casa Del Cielo Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Produced in Chile's Maule Valley, Casa Del Cielo Cabernet Sauvignon carries

attractive aromas of black cherry coupled by sweet notes of chocolate and mocha.

This palate pleasing wine is well balanced supported by soft and elegant tannins that

leave a long and pleasant finish. Pairs well with: Lamb.

#51 Barkan Classic Petite Syrah 2011

This is a wine with a deep ruby color and an aroma of red plums and currants. Full-

bodied with structured tannins, it is a superbly balanced wine with an elegant finish.

#52 Herzog Selection Chateneuf Bordeaux 2012

This semi-dry wine is made from Semillon and Muscadelle. The wine has a unique,

#53 Galil Mountain Yiron 2011

This wine is a tasty blend (62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 7% Syrah)

grown in the higher elevations of the Upper Galilee, considered the best

winegrowing area in Israel. It is a complex and elegant wine showing a rich, black

cherry and blackberry nose, balanced with fine notes of dried herbs, vanilla and oak.

Pairs well with: Winter beef ragout.

#54 Dalton Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

The Cabernet Sauvignon Dalton is a dark, rich and well-balanced wine, showing

characteristic Cabernet Sauvignon forest fruit qualities such as currants, berries and

mint, which are complemented very well with subtle vanilla flavors of French Oak.

#55 Barkan Classic Chardonnay 2013

Barkan Classic Chardonnay is produced from grapes grown on wines in the center of

Israel that yield small crops and ripen early. Hand-picked in small containers, the

grapes are rushed to the winery to ensure maximum quality. This wine has a rich

nose of blueberries, guava and pears. It is well structured, balanced and lingers in the

mouth. Pairs well with: Poultry and hard cheese.

#56 Galil Mountain Pinot Noir 2012

This wine is perfumed and silky with typical aromas of wild berries, violets, and hints

of tobacco and oak. Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. Pairs well with:

Salmon or other fatty fish.

#57 Baron Herzog Jeunesse Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Baron Herzog Jeunesse Cabernet Sauvignon displays a vibrant ruby color. It has a

soft texture with aromas of fresh berry, cherry and floral. It is produced from ripe

grapes that were cold fermented in exclusively stainless steel tanks. That's what

makes this wine "(No Suggestions)," which is French for youthful, flavorful and fun.

#58 Tierra Salvaje Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

Tierra Salvaje Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon enjoys refreshing aromas of wild berry

#59 Barkan Classic Sauvignon Blanc 2013

This Sauvignon Blanc has a pale color with typical aromas of passion fruit and green

#60 Gilgal White Riesling 2013

Gilgal White Riesling was produced entirely from white Riesling grapes grown in the

Golan Heights. The very cold fermentation preserves the crushed flower petal and

dried fruit qualities characteristic of this variety. It exhibits floral, melon, lemon zest,

peach and tangerine notes complemented by hints of fresh mint. Medium-bodied.

Pairs well with: Spicy Chinese chicken wings, bubbling cheese fondue or fish braised

in a spicy tomato sauce.

#61 Segal's Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

The wine underwent a protracted post-fermentation maceration on the skins of its

grapes, grown in the unique climate of the Upper Galilee. It was also aged for 14

months in a mixture of French and American oak. Segal's Special Reserve is rich,

complex and balanced, and continue to improve for many years. Pairs well with:

Braised lamb or venison.

#62 Baron Herzog Pinot Grigio 2013

This Pinot Grigio from California is classic in style with a perfect balance of acidity

and aroma. It has wonderful perfume notes on the nose, followed by ripe pear, apple

and tropical fruit. Light in body with a clean and elegant finish, this wine is perfect for

summertime sipping. Pairs well with: Cheese plates or light pasta dishes.

#63 Flam Classico 2012

This wine is made from grapes grown in their vineyards in the Judean Hills (50%

Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot). The wine

shows soft fruity flavors with spicier notes. Pairs well with: Rich, cheesy gratins.

#64 Barons Edmons Benjamin De Rothschild Haut Medoc 2012

Barons Edmond and Benjamin de Rothschild Haut-Medoc is a blended wine

(Cabernet Sauvignon 60% and Merlot 40%). The wine offers attractive spicy notes,

with rich fruit flavors. Pairs well with: Beef, veal, lamb or duck.

#65 Goose Bay Pinot Grigio 2013

Many Pinot Grigio lovers have yet to discover the depth the grape can achieve in the

southern hemisphere's best vineyards. Goose Bay Pinot Gris is sourced from

Marlborough, where incredible white wine grapes seem to grow in every nook and

cranny. This wine has a brilliant gold color. Aromatically it presents ripe pear and

vanilla, with flavors of quince, white flowers and key lime pie. Pairs well with: Sushi,

grilled tuna.

#66 Weinstock Cellar Select Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Weinstock Cellar Select Cabernet is harvested later in the season than usual and

consequently has an incredible level of richness. It has wonderful aroma notes of

cranberry, blackberry and tobacco aligned with a balanced oak bouquet and flavor.

This wine was aged in both new and one-year-old American and French barrels for

nearly 18 months. It has a soft mouth feel and nice, rich, soft tannin. Pairs well with:

Steak, pasta and grilled chicken.

#67 Gilgal Syrah 2011

Gilgal Syrah was produced from Syrah grapes grown in Israel's Golan Heights. Aged

in French oak barrels for 12 months, hints of smoky blackberry balance out the

earthy characteristics of Syrah. The Gilgal Syrah displays notes of cherry and plum

fruit with hints of juniper. It is medium- to full-bodied, flavorful and drinkable. Pairs

Castel Grand Vin 2012 is produced by Domaine du Castel, an Estate West of

Goose Bay Pinot Noir 2013 has incredible flavors of black cherry and strawberry,

which come from its long, cool growing season and clay loam soils. You will also

#73 Yarden Hermon White 2013

Yarden Mount Hermon White was produced from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc

Yarden Chardonnay Odem organic wine was produced entirely from grapes grown in

the cool Odem Vineyard, which has been farmed organically since 1998. Barrel

complex wine balancing fruit and floral notes with hints of oak and butter. Pairs well

This wine is made of 100 percent Chardonnay. The grapes were handpicked. The
