A: No, Vinyl is stuck directly to the substrate and does not expand and contract like a floating floor. Therefore, an expansion gap around the floor is not required. As a result there is no need for scotia.

A: National Tiles Vinyl Flooring has 0.5mm wear layer that will resist scratching. This is a great product for kids and small pets.Large pets will likely scratch the Vinyl over time.

A: Yes, Vinyl is waterproof and will follow falls to the waste allowing water to drain away. We do not recommend Vinyl is installed in areas with excessive water, for example in a shower base. Long term exposure to water may damage your subfloor.

A: National Tiles Vinyl Flooring can be indented by stiletto style heels, the smaller the point on the heel, the more likely Vinyl flooring will be indented. Wedge and block type heels are far less likely to indent Vinyl flooring.

A: No, National Tiles Vinyl Flooring, like all Vinyl flooring, is a printed replica of timber flooring. Sanding Vinyl may remove the printed surface and expose the PVC core. This will compromise the look and feel of the Vinyl.

A: Yes, National Tiles Vinyl Flooring is easy to keep clean, will not add dust to the home and is rated VOC – E1.

A: National Tiles Vinyl Flooring is produced in Korea.

A: VOC stands for Volatile Organic Compound, VOCs are released bywood based materials, some VOCs are dangerous to human health. As such, the amount of VOCs released by a product is tested and rated, E1 represents a level of VOCs released that has been classed as safe.

A: National Tiles recommends 7% wastage. Some complicatedinstallations with several small areas and multiple angles may require a higher wastage, or an installation with large open areas may require a lower wastage. A: We recommend that National Tiles Vinyl Flooring is left to acclimatise for 48 hours. The flooring is stored in a warehouse that is likely to have a different ambient temperature to your house. Vinyl like timber products expands with higher temperatures, conversely it contracts in lower temperatures. Leaving National Tiles Vinyl Flooring in an environment that is similar to which it will be installed will stop the floor from excessively expanding or contracting after installation.

A: The main differences are feel under foot, the 5mm has a softer feel. Also the look when installed on imperfect floors, the 5mm hides subfloor issues slightly better than the 3mm.

A: Sub floor preparation (prep) is a generic term used to describe any sub floor levelling required for flooring installation. The sub floor is the substrate that the National Tiles Vinyl Flooring will be installed over, this is normally concrete, tiles or yellow tongue particle board. The preparation normally completed is a self-levelling poor to fill low points, or a floor grind to remove high points.

A: No, National Tiles Vinyl Flooring is stuck directly to the subfloor. The PVC construction gives a soft feel without the need for underlay.

A: Vinyl flooring is quite difficult to install, we only recommend it is installedby an experienced installer. We do have an installation guide if required.
