The Bosch VIP X1600 is a modular, high-performanceCCTV camera video encoder. Each VIP X1600 is a 4 x 4unit that accommodates up to four hot-swappablemodules—each with four analog audio/video inputs.The VIP X1600 delivers real-time MPEG‑4 video over IP.View it on a PC using Bosch’s comprehensive videomanagement system, with or without Bosch’s IntuiKeykeyboard. Alternatively, use a Web browser. The BoschVideoSDK provides the means to integrate theVIP X1600 with other video management systems.These high-performance, multi-channel devices withiSCSI recording at the edge, offer top-of-the-lineVideo-over-IP performance for CCTV today.

Functions
IntelligenceMoving intelligence to the edge, the VIP X1600incorporates Bosch Intelligent Video Analysis IVA,including video loss detection and tamper detection(e.g., uniform picture caused by masking, hooding, anddefocusing). It also detects diverted camera scenarios—tampering caused by redirecting the entire camera.Designed for reliability, the VIP X1600 features hot-swappable video modules, dual redundant powersupply inputs, and redundant network ports.
RecordingThe VIP X1600 supports external storage, eitherdirectly attached to the unit (Recording-at-the-Edge),or across an IP network to a centralized network videorecorder (NVR). For Recording-at-the-Edge, attach aniSCSI RAID directly to the VIP X1600, making thesystem’s recording performance wholly independentfrom the network’s performance. The iSCSI RAIDstorage enables the VIP X1600 to act as a conventionalDVR and stream high-performance live video acrossthe network. Alternatively, the VIP X1600 can recordcentrally by sending IP video to a Bosch‑NVR system.The VIP X1600 can share an iSCSI RAID device withother units (such as Dinion IP cameras or additionalVIP X1600 encoders). Each iSCSI RAID can record31 Dinion IP cameras or 124 VIP X1600 cameras. EachiSCSI RAID can manage up to 200 Mbps of incomingvideo.The VIP X1600 supports the Bosch Video RecordingManager VRM, Bosch’s flexible and scalable recordingmanagement software. It allows a flexible assignmentof recording space on camera level including loadbalancing and decent redundancy features. Bosch VRMis available as stand-alone system or embedded intothe Bosch Video Management System.
Access SecurityThe VIP X1600 modules offer various security levels foraccessing the network, the unit, and the datachannels. As well as password protection with threelevels, they support 802.1x authentication using aRADIUS server for identification. You can secure Webbrowser access by HTTPS using a SSL certificate thatis stored in the unit. For total data protection, eachcommunication channel—video, audio, or serial I/O—can be independently AES encrypted with 128‑bitkeys, once the Encryption Site License has beenapplied.
High PerformanceTransmit IP video to a high-performance VIP XD videodecoder and present it with ultimate clarity on ananalog CCTV or large, flat-screen VGA monitor. AVIDOS Monitor Wall can provide, literally, a wall-full ofhigh-quality, real-time video.The devices use Dual Streaming to generate twoindependent IP video streams if sufficientcomputational power is available. This allows viewingand recording at two different quality levels, savingdisk space and bandwidth.The VIP X1600 is also used with VASA—Bosch’s hybridIP integration software—offering Allegiant IntuiKeyusers the ability to view an Allegiant camera or onefrom an IP-based system.
Easy UpgradeRemotely upgrade the VIP X1600 modules whenevernew firmware becomes available. This ensures up-to-date products, thus protecting investment with littleeffort.
