The students and staff would like to say a big thank you to the school community and especially the parents who took the time to attend the annual Spring Fling. It was a great afternoon made up of entertainment and prizes. It is with this continued support that the Music Depart- ment continues to thrive and be as amazing as it is. In addition this event also gener- ates needed funding for our fantastic Breakfast Program. A big thank you to Ms.Coady, Ms.Pope, Mme.Webb and all others who were directly in- volved in this great event. Parents and guardians are reminded that all Grade 9 students who are going to this event should now have their money and registration forms returned to their homeroom teachers. This is an opportu- nity to have fun, relax and celebrate the past three years at SPJH. Congratulations to all 20 students at St. Paul's who participated in the Eastern Newfoundland Regional Science Fair on Friday and Saturday. They all represented the school with pride! In the Junior Life Sciences category, Megan Kelly, Nicole Spencer, Bella Doody, Sami Puestow, Jack Winsor and Ridhi Mittal all received Honour-able Mentions, while Kate Foss earned a silver medal.

Last week Sarah R. started the initia-

tive of collecting pop tabs in support of

collecting enough to donate towards

the purchase of wheel chairs for those

in need.

All students are asked to collect as

many as possible and bring into the

school to support this good cause.

The grade 8 students were very fortunate to have Jennifer Morgan visit us as part of her book tour. Jennifer wrote The SS Caribou as a graphic novel and students were delighted as she told the story of her great uncle being the chief engineer onboard when the ship was destroyed during World War Two. Thank you Ms. Morgan for the visit!

Mental Health Matters– From a Whisper to a

Scream Provincial Conference

Thank you to all of the students who participated in the Provincial Mental

Health Matters Conference on April 24th and 25th. Mental Health is an

issue that many young people struggle to deal with. Going forward this

awesome group of students will work with other students and staff to assist

with SPJH continuing to be a school that supports all learners.
