    • Limited English Proficient (LEP) students and students with disabilities are provided access to assessments through a variety of accommodations which are documented in their Individual Education Program (IEP), 504 Plan and/or LEP Student Assessment Participation Plan.

  • Virginia Accreditation and Federal Accountability Virginia Accreditation Federal Accountability

Considers achievement in 4 core academic areas—English (reading + writing), history/social science, mathematics and science

Considers achievement in reading and mathematics

High schools must also meet a benchmark for graduation and completion—the Graduation and Completion Index (GCI) using data for current year

High schools must also meet the objective for graduation known as the Federal Graduation Indicator (FGI)—graduating students in 4, 5, or 6 years with a Standard Diploma or an Advanced Studies Diploma using previous year’s graduation rates

Does not look at subgroup performance Looks at subgroup performance for subgroups with 30 or more students

Benchmarks may be met using current year pass rates or 3-year averages

Annual Measureable Objectives (AMOs) may be met using current year pass rates or 3-year averages

Benchmarks are relatively stable AMOs increase year to year until 2016-17

Adjustments made for remediation and retesting, LEP students enrolled in Virginia public schools less than 11 semesters, and transfer students.

Adjustments made for transfer students, LEP students in their first year in a US school, non-passing retests

VSEP students considered participants VSEP students considered non-participants

  • Accreditation Benchmarks
