Funeral services were held Feb. 25 at the First Baptist Church of Goldthwaite with Dayton House and Charles Partin officiating. Burial will be at Priddy Cemetery. She was born July 17, 1941 in Comanche, the daughter of Brady Hufstutler and Annie Bullard Hufstutler. She was married to J.C. Partin on March 18, 1962. She was a teacher. Mrs. Partin was preced- ed in death by her parents, Brady and Annie Hufstutler and her in-laws, Floyd and Alma Partin. Survivors include her hus- band, J.C. Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Bill Koenig Bill Koenig, age 61, died Feb. 23, 2012 at his residence in Comanche County. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at the First Baptist Church of Comanche with Rev. Gerald Burns officiating. He was born April 25, 1950 in Dublin, the son of Ivan and Josie Koenig. He was baptized into the Catholic Church and attended St. Edward’s School in Dubina until he was transferred to St. Michael’s in Weimar. He attended Bishop Forest High School in Schluenburg where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. After graduation he attended Sam Houston State University. His first taste of law enforcement was as a prison guard in Huntsville. Shortly after that, in 1970, he became a Texas State Trooper and was stationed in Colorado County for a short time and then was transferred to Sealy. While working in Sealy, he met Tooter Hardin. They were married on April 19, 1975 in Weimar. They trans- ferred to Comanche in 1977, where they have lived ever since. Mr. Koenig became a trooper in Comanche, where he was famous for a fin- ger shake that meant “slow down.” He was not feared, he was respected. Mr. Koenig helped with the Comanche County Swine Show for many years, even after his children graduat- ed, supporting the youth of Comanche. He retired from the Department of Public Safety as a senior trooper with 31 years of service in 2000. After retiring, he became partners in a barbeque restaurant. For a few years he worked with his son-in-law in the con- struction business and on Jan. 2, 2007, he was sworn in as a Justice of the Peace, an office he held until his death. His four grandchildren were the pride and joy of his life. Mr. Koenig had a love for the outdoors and he loved to fish. He especially enjoyed the guys-only fishing trips. He had a genuine love of life and he never met a stranger. He always had a hug for everyone. He still got up every morning after he retired to have coffee with his buddies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Josie Koenig, father-in-law, Wesley Hardin and brother- in-law, Dennis Janosky. Survivors include his wife of Comanche; a son, Kipp Koenig and wife Ryann of Aspermont; daughter, Courtney Craig and husband Kevin of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Mattie and Wesley Koenig and Kasidy and Kennedy Craig; broth- ers, Bobby Koenig and wife Debbie, Jimmy Koenig and wife Jeanette and Tommy Koenig and wife Denise; mother-in-law, Judy Hardin; brothers-in-law and sisters- in-law, Bruce and Sissy Mikeska, Mike and Sandy Hancock and Lyndia Janosky as well as many nieces and nephews. Comanche Funeral Home Evelyn Parker Montgomery Evelyn Parker Montgomery, age 77, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her home in Heflin, LA, following a short illness. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at Caradan Cemetery in Mills County. Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Stacy- Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite. Mrs. Montgomery was born July 19, 1934, in Mills County, the daughter of Lee and Irene Denman Parker. She attended Mills County and Goldthwaite schools. She was married to Andrew T. Montgomery, Sr. on Nov. 19, 1949, in Zephyr. The couple moved to Hamilton, in 1963, and raised their four children, each of whom graduated from Hamilton High School. Mrs. Montgomery and her husband Andy were very active in the Hamilton County 4-H Clubs and were the first recipients of the Hamilton Co. 4-H Adult Leaders of the Year Award in 1975. Mrs. Montgomery began working for the Hamilton Herald-News in 1985, and was employed there until she retired in 1997. Upon retire- ment she moved to Heflin, LA, where she enjoyed being with family and working in her beautiful flower beds. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one son, Andrew Travis Montgomery, Jr. She is survived by a son Jim Montgomery of Heflin, LA; two daughters Marcia Dickerson and husband, George of Silver City, NM, and Carleigh Leake and hus- band, Todd of Heflin, LA; a sister Jan Ivy of Gatesville; three brothers, Charles Parker and wife Vireta of Goldthwaite, Gary Lee Parker and wife Karen of San Saba, and Guy Parker and wife Latricia of Sonora; four sisters-in-law, Alta Bracewell of Victoria, Dollie Bracewell of Hamilton, Thelma French of Rockdale, and Doris Biggers of Dallas; a brother- in-law, Dale Montgomery of Goldthwaite; numerous niec- es and nephews; and spe- cial friends, Sammy and Jean Ann Seale of Hamilton. Bill Koenig, age 61, died Feb. 23, 2012 at his residence in Comanche County. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at the First Baptist Church of Comanche with Rev. Gerald Burns officiating.

Evelyn Parker Montgomery

Evelyn Parker Montgomery, age 77, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her home in Heflin, LA, following a short illness. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 3 at 2 p.m. at Caradan Cemetery in Mills County. Visitation will be held Friday, March 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite.
